Both
i dont even know half the stuff im playing... im just playing them
I don't understand why technical isn't emotional...
I'd say melodic.
Trying both, more emotional side tough
emotion is the key to better playing
if you dont play with emotion you might as well just stop playing and sell your gear..
mostly just technical
good question.
A good guitarist must have both of them.
A bit of both
it matters how the song feels if it needs emotion add it! if it needs some technical stuff go for it
I would play both, but I get too caught up in my emotions to bother
both but mostly technical
I play both, it depends on the song. My band's song Flaming Vengence is a fast paced metal track, so it has a fairly techincal solo that is a right bitch to play, while a song I wrote for my Girlfriend called Beatiful Nightmare has a much more medodic solo despite it being metal.
I'm still learning alot but i try to balance both
yeh same here once i know a song in and out then i feel more confident to play purely on emotion .
Until I learn the song I pay attention to technic, and then I let my emotions go free.
