I just got this guitar yesterday, everything from the wood to the set thru construction and the hardware is top quality. Also its design makes the higher frets very accessible and the SD Black Winter is awesome too. But for the life of me I don't understand what they were thinking when they decided to put the strap button at the back of the body behind the top horn!! It's unplayable when you're standing, the neck instantly dives and the thing sits horizontally. Anyway it took me 5 minutes to drill a hole in the top horn and refit the strap button now it sits as it should. Apart from that the guitar is a beast!!

It's not a review. But I'm fascinated by this guitar. Sometime in the near future I will hopefully get one. There's especially two aspect of this guitar I'm intrigued about. No neck pickup, with just a volume control for the bridge pickup. The other thing, which most manufactures of 7 string guitars misses, is that they've put the 'extra' tuning peg on the top. For people coming from six string guitars, it's much more intuitive to let all the other strings have their tuning peg in the 'normal' place.

This guitar would be perfect if it had an Evertune bridge

Bought one of these about a month and a half ago, so far it is definitely by far my favorite 7 string that I've ever played... and the more I record with it, the more it's becoming my favorite guitar overall.  Thank you for making this guitar!!

Just ordered this guitar, sounds monstrous but the QC isn’t acceptable. Missing paint, the binding along the bottom edge of the fretboard is chipped and some of it is higher than the fretboard and very sharp. 

I’ve owned literally dozens of LTDs and have never experienced this before. Who should I contact about this? 

you guys should make a 6 string normal scale, please

Got mine week ago. It became my favourite 7-string guitar EVER. A killer guitar.

I bought one of these bad boys a few months ago and it's by far my favorite guitar. The black winter humbucker is amazing for high gain black metal tones and the coil splitting knob makes for beautiful crisp clean tones. The neck is also very comfortable. The only complaint is neckdive but that's basically inevitable with the an sg style guitar that's 7 string but once you get used to it, it's not bad at all. Overall, an amazing guitar.

A 6 string version would be wonderful.

The only thing I wished for this VIPER is to have NEW 2021 version:

8 string, Hipshot bridge, Bare Knuckle Warpig pickup!!!

Is there a better position for the strap button other than behind the upper cutout? The neck is very top heavy and drops when hands-free.

Please make a 6 string version of the Black Metal Viper.

What do the rest of the numbers mean?

I just ordered one today from Sweetwater. There were two available when I ordered, one was made in Korea and the other was made in Indonesia. Did production get moved from Korea to Indonesia or are they being made in both places? I am just curious. Also could you tell me how to read the serial numbers on them. The one from Korea had a serial number of W19010204. I had read that the first 2 numbers were the year meaning 19= 2019, the next 2 numbers are the week in the year being 01= January. I had read that the next number was the day of the week, which is a "0"...so at that point I am lost because I don't know what day of the week "0" is.... Does any one know how to read these serial numbers? The other one from Indonesia  had a serial number of IW19061896. Thanks for any help reading the numbers.

LOVE this guitar!  PERFECT for any type of metal.  Was surprised by the pick-up.  Sounds awesome!  The description doesnt mention that the volume knob is push/pull to split the humbucker too.  This guitar loves speed picking and chugging all day.  Sustains for days. And it looks awesome!  Glow in the dark side dots are way brighter than i thought theyd be too.  Very pleased with it after one week of ownership. 

Why the price jump?

To add to all the comments below, what's the chances of a 6 string version? And, if you do, you might as well put a reverse pointy headtock on it to as per the Reba Meyers model...just asking...Thanks.
