Yes and no. What matters mostly is durability, the quality of the jack ends and the solder job. As far as signal goes, have tested many a cable and even the cheapest don't have a resistance high enough to change your tone unless your making a long ass cable run. In which case you should be buffering your signal anyway. Mons**r cable and the like is for people who believe in unicorns and like to throw their money away.
