actives sound like SHIIIIITTTT

Ilgaz Alaca

Passive pickups have much bigger tonal range. It is more sensitive. It even depends on if you pick hardly or softly. I put a boost pedal and a noise gate on my signal chain, so it has higher output and less feedback.

Patrick Ombrog

both are great, and if i had a rack of guitars, i wouldnt want all of them to be passive or active, when i want something bright ill go active, if feel like i want a darker sound, ill go passive.

Synix

They both sound great depending on what tone you're after. I personlly perfer active tone for the heaviest playing styles, but for power metal and the more melodic generes passives rule it.

Hunter W.

I think they both sound nice
