ESP ALL ACCESS COMMUNITY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT! If heavy metal has been an important part of your life, there's just a short list of people who — beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s — are essentially responsible for having created the entire genre of music. There's no doubt that one of them is the great John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne, who passed away this week at age 76. We are very fortunate not only to have lived at the same time in history as Ozzy, but that just a few weeks ago, we were able to collectively celebrate his life while he still lived, at the "Back to the Beginning" benefit concert on July 5.
One important thing about music: it is eternal and immortal. The music Bach made in the early 1700s is no less amazing today as it was 300 years ago. As a musician, you are contributing to the culture of today that may reverberate eons into the future. So the music that Ozzy created — along with a series of influential and virtuosic guitarists — doesn't go away. It lives on. And here's All Access member Florian Soum, a longtime contributor to the ESP community, doing an amazing cover of Randy Rhoads' solo on Ozzy's classic "Crazy Train," using his ESP Original Series M-II. Florian writes, "RIP Ozzy, godfather of Heavy Metal. We will not do what we do without you. Thank you for everything you did for the genre, and for inspiring millions of musicians, including me!" We couldn't have said it any better.
If you're doing cool music with your ESP, ESP E-II, or LTD guitar or bass, upload a video to the ESP site and we might select you as the next ESP All Access Community Member to feature on our front page where thousands of other players can check you out! Get the details here.
