ESP ALL ACCESS COMMUNITY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT! What is a riff, exactly? In more serious forms of music, it's akin to an ostinato... a repeated series of notes that might just be some insignificant musical decoration, but can also become the basis for your song's entire composition. There are so many famous riffs in rock history, we can't begin to list them, but go check out the music of Led Zeppelin for some of the most well-known and masterful riff-based rock. In this submission for our weekly All Access spotlight, Pablus Hansen is trying out a new riff idea on his LTD MH-350 (a model we don't currently offer, but is similar to other MH Series guitars). We like Pablus's riff! It has some cool hooks and a memorable melody, which are two of the qualities that lead to rock excellence. You can check out more of his music on his YouTube channel.
