Hey All, I won this snakebyte from an auction at a celebrity Golf Tournament that was made by ESP for Metallica. It was signed by a bunch of Stars and pro Athletes and I am trying to find out what it may be worth. Its never been used, They claimed $4000.00? anyone have some input would be greatly appreciated.
Finally got a Snakebyte after saving up for about year and a half, absolutely love it.
- I do have a question, anyone else experiencing that you have to turn up the bridge pickup volume in the middle position to get any signal from the neck pickup ?
I'm not sure if mine has been wired wrong or if I'm just using it wrong.
Any word on this would be appreciated, thank you.
I don't have one so can't confirm if it's the way these models are wired of if it's a fault, sounds unusual though. I would get in touch whith ESP to clarify, hope this helps.
i'm literally in love with this guitar, getting it for my birthday! i'm gonna treat that thing like it's my own child
Got my snakebyte finally. And now it’s beside my vulture. Love them both.
Do they make the Ltd in Korea again or Indonesia
My absolute favorite guitar I've ever owned. Sick axe
I had to refurbish a gloss black one to afford it, but once it was finished it's my number one guitar next to my exp-200
I own this Guitar almost a year now and I am very happy with it.
It is very comfortable to play, I am an explorer shape Guitar player anyway, but this one seems to fit better than the classic shapes we know.
Sound is amazing and it makes fun to grab and play this Guitar.
Only point that makes me sad is, that my Fretboard is very bright at the lenght of the E and A String. So it would look better if it would be dark es it sholud.
I Hope we will see an Vintage/ Olympic white Verions of the Snakbyte in some time.
Will there even be a cheaper version of LTD Snakebyte? Maybe with standart inlays, no signature on it and with LTD pickups instead of aftermarket ones... Looking forward for it
Sadly I hate that these are made In indonesia... All signature models should at minimum be made in Korea. The quality is far better there.
I just received my new Indonesian Snakebyte, and given some of the posts here, I thought I would be fair to ESP and post my thoughts. The guitar arrived and was flawless. I can only compare it to a 2012-ish Black Snakebyte I had many years back, but I am completely satisfied with the quality. I'm not trying to discount anyone's opinion, but felt it was worth sharing mine.
Wow beautiful man I love this guitar
Just got one ! Great guitar ! I was wondering if it would be clearly better than my trusty old LTD EX-360 (which i put the same EMG JH humbuckers in).. and it is ! A more full tone, maybe due to the all mahogany construction. Superior sustain as well. Perfect balance. Good locking tuners. Just a great instrument for all types of users. I do agree like others pointed out, some more attention to the fretboard finish should given, but mine was in reasonably good shape.
Just got my 2021 Indonesian Snakebyte and I’m extremely disappointed in the quality compared to the Korean models. DRASTIC difference in sound, feel, and look. Definitely NOT worth the money. Buy an older Korean one for half the price. This is EXTREMELY sad considering they said the quality was up to par with the old factory. I was looking forward to ordering the white Vulture when it comes out but if this is the quality to expect I won’t be doing that.
Damn, this is sad to hear... I was in the market for a snakebyte. I hate that a signature model for this price is having quality issues... I would have expected this to be a korean made model... Indonesian guitars in my humble opinion are just not up to snuff yet especially for these prices... I guess i'll just try to find a korean model on reverb then. Hopefully one is brand new condition. It really bothers me to see these prices for low quality... ESP is really making some mistakes and it's making me look at other brands.
Oof. Sorry to hear that. They are making them in Korea again thank goodness. I just got one built in January 2022. You just need to make sure to ask the vendor you buy it from. A lot of them use stock pics that may say "Korea" on the headstock...but they send you an Indo model. I have a fantastic Indo made Jackson guitar that's flawless, but I don't trust LTD for some reason.
Update....I'm the one with the 2022 Korean Snakebyte above. Took me a few days to realize all the issues. The nut is just a mess - chips broken out of the slots. The bridge is not centered with the pickups (yes the bridge is out of center - NOT the nut.) Overspray on the headstock, and you can see the glue line in the lower part of the body in the paint where they glued the piece of the body on. Several black spots in the white finish. Sounds great and feels great, but I'm not dealing with this for a $1500 guitar. I'm sure it's a fluke but it's pretty rough. I have an INDO Jackson that's flawless, and some Ibanez RG's and Prestige that are flawless and they cost much less. Attempting a return right now. Unfortunate because these things are hard to find brand new these days.
amazing guitar. when is the LTD camo coming? and the white vulture?
Me and my dad have been talking about getting this and he believes there's a hairline crack where the neck joins the body and I believe its just glue thats holding it and then paint to fill in the bit of the crack. Really what worrys me is the bridge area if they still are coming with the dent in. Please let me know so I can let him know.

Just bought myself one of these LTD Snakebyte guitars in snow white. I'm very impressed. The neck is comfortable, the pickups sound great, and the guitar balances very well on a strap. No complaints here. I am curious though. The nut type says "molded". Perhaps it's just another way to say plastic. On balance, a fine instrument I'll play for years.
Are the 2021 Ltd Snakebyte models going to have stainless steal frets? Thanks!
Hello, Current specs on the site are correct. If there will be any changes next year for this model or any others, we will update the specs at that time.
