Mike Leon pounds the brutal low end for Brazilian-American groove/thrash metal monsters Soulfly and their related band Cavalera Conspiracy. Mike’s LTD Signature Series bass, the MLB-4, is based on Mike’s admiration of the LTD B Series basses that he’s used for years of touring and recording with a wide variety of metal bands. Inspired by the design of Mike’s ESP Custom Shop bass, the MLB-4 makes its unique impression with a textured sandblasted finish on its swamp ash body, a complementing black satin headstock, and a silky smooth open-pore finish on the back of its extra-thin five-piece wenge/purpleheart neck. Designed to handle the rigors of touring, this bass features sturdy 6-bolt construction, and a 35” scale for delving into the lower sonic registers. Its Macassar ebony fingerboard includes offset mother-of-pearl dot inlays and 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. The MLB-4 provides a premium active pickup set with two Nordstrand Big Splits, providing a muscular yet smooth, strong, and rich tonal palette. You also get detailed tone-shaping capabilities with individual volume knobs for each pickup plus ABQ-3MS three-band EQ controls. Other top-tier components on the MLB-4 include metal dome knobs, Gotoh tuners, and a Gotoh 404BO-4 hardtail bridge. Includes ESP deluxe hardshell case.
