Does anyone know the shaft size on the pots I like to change my knobs

Kim C.

I own a Phoenix 401 and love the neck through & the neck volute...these two features alone have made LTD my guitar brand of choice. Hope to get a Viper at some point. The Phoenix-1000 looks absolutely amazing - wish it had 24 frets. No more Gibsons or Epiphones for me.

Here is my review:

As with most guitars the setup can be good or bad. The set up on this one had really high action, highest I have ever seen. Re-stringed it and re-set the guitar up to my specs. That went well, the neck adjustment was dead on which usually isn't the case. So I was happy with that.

One big issue with these style guitars is the tendency to neck dive due to the body design. This one was the worst I have ever seen!

Neck dive can be compensated for with proper location of the front Strat button to be closer to the neck heel. So to alleviate this so I could play the guitar standing up, I relocated the strap button to the rear of the neck pocket and this made a worlds of difference. Should have been already done this way since everyone for years has always known that explorer/Firebird type guitars are very prone to this.  The tone push/pull pot was literally barely hanging on it was so loose. So I tightened that up.

After all that I have a really nice guitar. Plays great and sounds great too. Overall very happy with the purchase.

This one was made in Indonesia which most of the LTD line has shifted to know due to the higher costs involved with South Korean factories these days.

It would be just perfect if it had the coil split voice wired too and not only the voice 1/2 switch!

thanks for the suggestion!

Ralf K.

Hallo,

I have a question about the bridge. Is the spacing of the stop-tailpiece studs 81.5 mm / 3.2"?
Best regards.

Thanks, I have no doubt that I will like it. I own 3 LTD's. An EC 1000, EC 1000 FR and a EC 1000T. My favorite guitars.

Todd B. ESP

Hey John, Glad to hear that and we hope you love it when you receive it!

Bryan V.

When will these be available? I’m impatient when it comes to online orders and would like a rough idea of when to expect them to ship.

Frederick B.

Bryan, I Pre-Ordered mine on 1/28, and actually received mine on 2/5.  It's total badass! \m/

Carl N.

Hey Bryan, these are currently available.

Cesar G.

Any chance to get this in black?

Carl N.

Hey Cesar, was the Black Metal version not black enough for you?

Cesar G.

Carl N, I love the black metal version. But I would like to have 2 awesome pick ups just not the one.

Frederick B.

Ordered!  Can't freakin wait for it to come in.  98% of my guitars are EC models, so ready to see how the Phoenix feels.  Sure it will be a Thrash and Death Metal beast! \m/

Carl N.

Hope you enjoy it Frederick!

Riff Dr 75

Make sure you post your feelings on the Phoenix I'm saving to get one for my next ESP LTD

James L.

The only thing that'd make this better would be a 7 string variant. Outside of that, I'm just glad the Phoenix is back. We need more of this kinda shape in the world.

Carl N.

Thanks for sharing James!

Matthew K.

Does this guitar have a satin or gloss finished neck?

Carl N.

Hey Matthew, this will be a gloss instrument with a gloss neck.  Hope this helps!

Glenn F.

What are the dimensions of this guitar? Length and width. I prefer using a well-padded gig bag. Any plans to offer a gig bag for this, ESP? Thanks.

Carl N.

Hey Glenn, should be about 1069mm by 349mm, the wedge gig bag we currently offer would be sufficient for this instrument though we will reintroduce a case for this shortly.

Grant J.

Any chance this be available left handed? Would really love to own one of these

Carl N.

Hey Grant, no plans at the moment but maybe one day.

GliTch

Any clue what kind of price this will be? A lot of the other models are up for preorders on retail sites, but I can't find this one anywhere

Michael D.

Looks like a couple retailers have presale at $999.

Carl N.

Hey GliTch, pricing will be listed for customer's within the U.S. but if you are viewing this from outside of the U.S. you would need to contact your local ESP distributor for pricing within your region.
