I saw this one at local store probably the only one in Canada and it is stunning! Any chance this is going to have the EMG 81/60 version?

May I ask how much on average does this chambered guitar weight?

Justin B.

Love this guitar — plays great and sounds great. I have a 2021 build, but am not sure how to tell if it’s stainless frets or just before based on the serial number.

Robert D.

I guess i'm glad I got the first series of these before they decided to follow in Gibsons foot steps and started chambering these things... I HATE chambered Les Paul's... Bad Idea ESP... Makes no real sense to chamber a full thickness, that's what the other EC series is for.

Jeff A.

Easier on the back, Also the chambering makes it vibrate and ring out with a fuller tone compared to my LP's. Tone is just as good as all the solid one I've have played....

Tim S.

I disagree.  Chambering makes the guitar sing and lightens it up. Thank you ESP.

neo g.

I agree with you Robert, doesn't make sense to chamber a ltd full thickness. The regular non ft esp standard eclipse and ltd ec-1000 are already smaller than a regular gibson les paul body. thus saving weight without having to chamber it. Chambering sounds good to my ears acoustically and clean, however; on distortion it sounds hollow and doesn't have the oomph or balls a full thickness les paul has. Removing too much wood around the pickups and bridge make it sound like a semi hollow guitar. When I buy esp i want to play metal. Esp just make a standalone semi-hollow les paul if you want people to have that type of sound.

Really like this guitar so much and I’m so interested.

I got the old version of this guitar, which is the EC1000T-CTM and another full thickness LTD which is the EC401-VF. Both models are 2012, the 1000 does not have a maple cap at all as it is not mentioned in the catalog. But the 401 indicates it’s got a maple top.

Regarding the 401, is it a veneer layer over a plain maple cap or just the thin veneer layer, thanks.

Carl N.

those will use a veneer

Marc G.

Is this an Arch Top or a Flat Top?

Carl N.

this is an arch top

Ricardo R.

Hi,I'm looking for this same snow white model but with a peg and some gold edges, I can't find it, is it still being manufactured? Thank you

Carl N.

Not sure what specific model you mean, our older instruments can be viewed via our product archive.  All currently produced models will be up within our guitars section.

Jason T.

So beautiful! I bet it sounds fabulous. Jamie from One Machine and I chatted about these at NAMM 2019. He KNOWS I want it haha. I woulda picked it up already but theres no belly recess on the back... I know these are mass produced overseas but it would be a blast to see these just a smidge more ergonomic. Cheers

Dear Sr.

how many pieces of mahogany and maple, are made the body of the LTD ec 1001T CTM snow white?

Best Regards

Carl N.

Typically bodies will be made of three pieces of mahogany and tops generally are two pieces

Harlow

Hi, description states "set-thru construction with a mahogany body and maple cap". I have been told that LTD series only feature a maple veneer and a solid maple cap is only featured in ESP guitars made in Japan!?

Carl N.

ESP instruments with figured tops will be solid tops whereas most LTD instruments will solely have a veneer.  Some LTD models, such as this, will have a plain maple top.

Harlow

Thanks! Interesting, I wonder how thick that plain maple top approximately is?

Also, description says “full-thickness body that is chambered for weight relief”. Why, does that give any tonal advantage or is it a tradition? Because I think a thin solid body with same weight would be more comfortable, stable and maybe easier to make.

Carl N.

About 15mm thick.  Chambered offers a richer softer sound vs that of a solid body

Harlow

Hi anyone knows what the difference between EC-1000 and EC-1001 is?

Carl N.

EC1001 was a designation used for us to differentiate when we are using EMG metalworks pickups

Anthony J.

What does the T & CTM stand for?

Carl N.

Hey Anthony, Traditional and Custom, hope this helps!

Markus L.

I bought this guitar recently and I am so far very pleased with how it plays and how it sounds, but one thing I could not find anywhere is if the frets are nickel or stainless steel. It certainly isn't a deal breaker for me, but it would be nice to know. Thanks in advance!

Carl N.

Hey Markus, glad you're enjoying it.  The frets will be a nickel/silver alloy unless otherwise stated.  Hope this help!

RonPinotti

What's the best way to clean the pick up covers?

Carl N.

Hey Ron, you could use the same polishing cloth that you use to clean your guitar!

RonPinotti

What about some kind of spray cleaner product?

Carl N.

Hey Ron, liquid cleaners wouldn't really be necessary.

Lukáš K.

It´s sad that how all of your EC guitars are priced ralatively well even with nice quilt or flamed tops you price this guitar in plain white more than any other guitars, I don´t understand, this single colour should be relatively cheap, I agree with the full thickness of the body but how much of wood you add that in the final it costs that much more, adding binding and 57/66 instead of 81/85? These pickups should cost same, and why the laquer? I think that I was asking to make this same as the E-II which is in satin finish. Don´t you make this in Indonesia instead of Korea? Btw I´ve had a lot of Indonesian or Korean made guitars and I could not see much difference plus I think that Indonesia is putting their efforts to maximum. I would really love to own an LTD guitar but you do spec the guitars not the way I would like. Also I want to suggest if you will ever make M or MH model in colour that you do for ESP USA, like orange marble, fire rust metallic or solar flare, these colours are really nice, also I miss the tear drop headstock you were making on Horizons and TOM bridge and tail pice bridges and block inlays as you do on ESP USA models. I really wish to se what you come with for 2020

Carl N.

Hey Lukáš, the full thickness body along with the maple top do affect the cost of this instrument.  Also the EMG pickups within this are more expensive than other sets on the market.  Hope this helps and thanks for your suggestions!

Jean L.

I'm very intrigued about the EC-1000 CTM models. The specs are almost everything I could want in this price range. But I'm wondering if there are plans for a CTM with passive pickups? I realize that LTD offered the EC-1000 CTM DMZ a few years ago, and I've looked into buying one of those used, but they are difficult to come by. And I don't like the idea of pulling out active pickups to replace them with passives.

Carl N.

Hey Jean, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to be first to see the new models we'll be releasing in 2020...perhaps you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Rob D.

I just received this snow white yesterday and I have to say it is one of the best necks I have played, maybe ever. I own PRS Custom 24, a couple Les Paul Custom shop, Fender Strat and Ibanez's, for the money, this can't be beat. The neck is superb, the body, thick and a little heavier than my Les Pauls but the sound is beefy as well. I have been using EMG pups since the very early 90's, first 81/85, then 81x/85x, then the 57/66 combo loaded into my main guitars, so I was very happy to see that the 57/66 combo are installed from the factory, but better yet, that it is the TW models for coil tap to single coil. I am very happy I bought this guitar. It is quickly becoming my favorite gig axe.

Carl N.

Hey Rob, glad you're enjoying your new LTD and thank you for leaving your feedback!!

Aris M.

Hello there i would like to know the weight of the guitar ,difference in weight with the non full thickness models ec1000 and if you recomend it for heavy sounds (as its champered) compare to the more solid ec1000

Todd B. ESP

Hi Aris, each model can vary in weight so there is not a standard weight. It can be approximately 9.5lbs for the full thickness versions and approximately 8.5lbs for the standard thickness. The chambering in the full thickness models is done for weight relief. It is not intended to affect the sounds. Either version of our Eclipse body would be good for heavy sounds. However keep in mind the type of music or sounds you are going for - pickups will make a big difference as well.
