Can you bring back the Mx style body shape with the old banana headstock and not that pointy edges. They are gona be sold out in seconds

Carl N.

thanks for the suggestion!

Sky K.

They can’t because of the Gibson Lawsuit, you can have them special ordered from Japan if you want one custom shopped.

Anybody knows the size of the tuners licenced by esp from an ltd ex-360? 16:1 or 18:1. I wanna change them by Gotoh or Grover. Please I need help

Carl N.

if you have any questions you may reach out to our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com or https://www.espguitars.com/pages/support

Adam K

The EX Orignal body was an Explorer copy and resulted in a lawsuit because ESP made it better than Gibson so they sued .ESP. So they can no longer make any American EX designed guitars in the Explorer Shape.

Mike B.

I have a spaled maple version of this. Bought it for $200 with a clean headstock break. Fixed it up and its as good as new.

Not usually a fan of active pups, but that 61 is awesome for rhythm work.

Carl N.

glad you could get it up and running again, thanks for sharing

B H

Oh how I wish you guys would bring back the FX version of this with standard colors instead of the burl top like the FX-360&400 models had. I love the EX design but hate the pointy 6-in-line headstock. I have an ESP Standard Series FX that is the absolute best guitar I own and would love to have something in black or white that that was an E-II or 1000 series.

Carl N.

Thanks for the recommendation!!

Chris M.

Would love to see a model based on 80's and 90's James Hetfield Explorer style, where the pointy edges are more round curves instead of a sharper point and w/ choice of EMG 81/60 or 81/85 set.

Carl N.

thanks for the suggestion

Troy P.

I like this idea. Also, an option for Fishmans and Evertune would be awesome!!

Cesar A.

Hi, where can I buy one online brandnew? I’ve been told the EX series are now discontinued?

Carl N.

Here are all of our current EX models, which can be ordered through our site or any authorized dealer

https://www.espguitars.com/products?categories=ex-series

Randy R.

Wouldn’t mind the body design if the headstock was tilted downwards like the Snakebyte :(

Carl N.

thanks for the insight

Tim S.

You should maybe consider a  version with ebony fretboard.

Carl N.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Cody R.

Are we able to customize these at all by order? Say if I wanted Gold Hardware instead?

Carl N.

Hey Cody, our production models come just as they are listed.  ESP USA instruments have a list of options that are able to be selected through our configurator and ESP Custom Shop instruments are able to be built to your specific specifications.

Jason Vassallo

I'm curious as why there is only 4 models available but like a billion models for like the eclipses? Do you guys make more options available based on what sells more? Just curious

Todd B. ESP

Hi Jason, Yes that's true. The more demand there is for a certain design, then there are more different versions available. I know how you feel, sometimes there are very limited choices in color for certain designs. Thanks for your question and hope that helps. NOTE: We have made some different design options for the EX-400 and EX-401 in the past. Maybe you can find something on the used market or new old stock, just a suggestion.

Xavier O.

Do you make any LTD EX with a Floyd Rose or would I have to have that done myself?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Xavier, we currently do not offer one with an FR bridge, but we have offered a 300 & 400 series in the past with FR bridge. I would search for EX-401FR and see if you can find any old new stock or used. If not yes you would have to mod a guitar, which is quite a bit of work so I would not recommend to do that. The main reason is that a guitar we build with an FR bridge will have a lower neck angle. You can put an FR on a guitar with more neck angle but the end result is you have an FR bridge that sits too high off the body and is uncomfortable to play.

Rick C.

Is there an option for a reverse headstock on these?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Rick, Sorry there is no option to have a reverse headstock on this model.

Moises S.

Why are these "Ex" guitars are made with maple necks and not mahogany? How does this affect the sound?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Moises, Maple necks are stronger and produce a more aggressive sound that is sharper and more focused. More clarity and more high end compared to mahogany.

Ashley

I really love how balanced and well-constructed your guitars are. Would love to see EX401 in different colours and maybe available with a satin finish? Get them indie shreddz

(ps, would you ever consider an ‘F-type’ guitar?)

Todd B. ESP

Hi Ashley, glad to hear this. Thanks for your suggestions as well. We've done some different finishes over the years. Check out the FX360 PBS (Padauk Brown Stain) from a few years back. We do make an F series and FRX series guitars, not sure if that's what you're asking.

Ashley

I think I’ve seen that one, it’s kinda got an EC-1000 Koa vibe to it. And though I’ve heard of your F series I didn’t think to distinguish them from what I meant to ask so my apologies there.

I was asking about if ESP or LTD had ever done a Firebird style guitar? Softer curves, set-through, stopbar bridge, etc

Todd B. ESP

Hi Ashley, OK. I see what you were looking for. Yes we have made some guitars similar to a Firebird in the past but we don't currently offer them. The old original model was called the ESP Phoenix. Then we made some LTD Phoenix-200 and Phoenix-1000 guitars as well as some Phoenix-1004, Phoenix-204 basses. You can also check out the Bill Kelliher Sparrowhawk model which would be the closest thing we offer now.

James L.

Look up the Phoenix from a few years back. They made a 200, 400, and 1000 series in the early 2010s, and i believe they go anywhere from 400-1200 USD.

Todd B. ESP

Hi James, thanks for the additional info. that sounds about right.

Nicolás V.

Whats its the average price of this model?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Nicolas V,

If you are within the USA the price is listed on each product page. If you live outside the US, please contact your local distributor or nearest dealer for your pricing. Here is a link to our distributor page: https://www.espguitars.com/locations?categories=intl-distributors

C Bowman

I like the EX series, but I wish you'd start making more of the FX series. Preferably a 400 style with sustainiac or floyd.

Todd B. ESP

Hey C Bowman, Thanks for your suggestion. Which version of FRX would you like to see?  6 or 7 string?

C Bowman

I figure most would want a 7, since a lot of the coustomers play metal. I'm fine playing 6 however.

Todd B. ESP

Hi C Bowman, OK thanks.

Tito K.

would love to see an ex 1000 some day with ebony fretboard, evertune maybe or even a baritone one (6 or 7 string)

Todd B. ESP

Hi  Tito, Thanks for your suggestions.

Tom O.

and a 25.5" scale

Todd B. ESP

Hi Tom, Yes definitely it would have to be longer than standard scale. Either 25.5" or 27" baritone.

David D.

What this needs, is an Extra thin U, or extra thin flat neck with Ebony Fretboard, or even Rosewood would do.  But shredders look to these.  And shredders want thinner necks!

Joshua S.

I'd like to see a EX-1000 snow white with Seymour Duncan distortion in the neck and a dimebucker in the bridge with black tonepros bridge and tailpiece LTD locking tuners and a bound ebony fingerboard with flag inlays.

TheEclipse

You guys should really update the EX series for next NAMM... I love these series and they haven't been really touched in the higher end 1000 or 400 series... or just add ebony fretboards!! Would really love these back, they play amazing!! CITES is a problem tho so just make some cool new EX models!!

Mōrā - Azüra guitarist

I totally agree with you man

Luis Gee....

It would also be cool to see some abalone inlays, maybe a set of EMG 57/66 instead of the usual 81/60 combo currently offered

Carl N.

Hey Luis, thanks for your recommendations!  Though small, the dot inlays on this are abalone.
