Hello, I own the ESP 2005 version, i have some questions, hopefully you can answer.

1. The colour has been darkening, I know it has almost 15 years so I guess that would be normal through age... eitherway... is there any product I could use to recover the original colour? the white parts has been getting yellowish, Im posting some pics according to this.

2. It has some "crack" or I dont know what would be... it has appeared through time, is there anyway to fix this?

Thank you for your futher response.

Hey Luis, sweet ESP you got there.  Yellowing is a common occurrence with instruments, unfortunately once the finish yellows there is no going back.  To answer both of your questions, to get this back up in original appearance it would require refinishing the entire instrument, though this would just lead to future yellowing again.  Gloss finishes are a little more forgiving when the time comes to performing repairs but with satin finishes there isn't much room to correct problems as they arise later down the road.  My assumption is that the cracking occurred due to fluctuations in temperature/humidity over time.  Poly finishes are stable but wood can still take in or be depleted of moisture which causes it to expand and contract, hence the cracking around the binding line as the binding is hard plastic.  Hope you find this useful and best of luck!

Hey!  3 questions.  1.  Are there any other camo color options?  2.  How long will this guitar be in production?  3.  What does the case look like?  Thanks!

Carl N.

Hey Jeffrey, no other camo options besides the one pictured, this is a standard production model so no time frame for it's production, the case will be our standard black ESP branded case.  Hope this helps!

Ken R.

hi is it possible to have this model with Barenukles pickups?

Carl N.

Hey Ken, while it would always be possible to swap pickups later the current production of this instrument will be with EMG pickups.  Thanks for your insight!

Can u believe that someone walked into my house, in the middle of the day, with someone home, and stole one of my ESP E2 M2 Urban Camo Guitars right off it's guitar stand in my bedroom.  Who has balls that big?  It's baffled me and the police.  Besides, there were 2 guitars sitting next to one another and they only took 1?  The idiots in the world today.  Well this story has a happy ending, the guitar was insured, I settled with the insurance company three days later and ordered me a brand new guitar to replace the old one, got the new guitar and it was awesome, just like the one that got stolen, you never know what your gonna get, but I got another good one.  I got a buddy who is a private detective, I gave him all the info on the stolen guitar ie. serial number, and photograph, he checked with his buddies in the State Highway Patrol and used their computers to search the pawn shop registry and they got a hit on the serial number in a pawn shop over 100 miles away in Zanesville, OH.  He contacted the pawn shop and sent the Sheriff to reclaim property for the insurance company(the guitar is no longer mine it belongs to the insurance company)come to find out the dude that pawned it for 500 dollars and used a fake ID that had a bunch of warrants out on it.  The pawn shop had him on camera, but the cops couldn't identify him.  Dammm!!  Nobody gets busted.  The moral of the story is...kids, when you leave the house, even if someone is home and they are sleeping, always lock up because joe dumbass robber is gonna take from your stash of music equipment, even in the middle of the day, because he's been scoping your house out for a week and learning your patterns.  Don't trust nobody!

Hi Jshannon3, Wow that is an unbelievable story. Glad that you were able to get insurance to cover it and get a new guitar. It is a good lesson for us all.

Why is there a rosewood fingerboard on the camo and black FR guitars, but ebony on some of the others? I much prefer an ebony board.

Todd B. ESP

Marcus, Not sure I have an explanation for why every guitar has a rosewood or ebony fingerboard, however some of these models have been around in our product line for quite a while and I would say that those older models typically have or had rosewood fingerboards. When we introduce new models we are typically using ebony, so that might explain why these older M-II Urban Camo and BLK models have the rosewood but the newer version have ebony.
