Is the neck satin or gloss?
My reindeer blue e II showed up in June 2022. Would like to see a little more of the quilted top but it does not matter. This guitar is a stunning work of art. Who ever set up the action and intonation is a master. Thanks esp
I own both the nt and fr the nt in black and the fr in blue great guitars just wish the blue fr came with emg pickups and a bound neck gonna cost a few hundred to put emg pickups in it more if I put the ash tray battery box in
I esp I played is guitar at samash I love it played like dream it as sd custom 5and 59set it was model
You need to update the specifications of the Horizon's neck profile. It is not a "thin U" neck profile. Its standard "C" type. It's deeper than your other thin U necks.
I don't have small hands, and I could not get with this neck profile. Wide and deep neck.
Hello ESP! On an EU dealer's website, I found out that this guitar is coming soon. I love it so much and plan to make the purchase.
However, on the dealer's website, it says this guitar has "Seymour Duncan Custom 5 (bridge) & Jazz (neck)" pickups, and there is NO push/pull button for coil-tapping. But on this page, it says the pickups are "Sentient & Pegasus" and there IS a push/pull button for coil-tapping.
May I know which website has the latest and CORRECT information about this model?
Thank you so much for your help!!! It will help greatly with my purchase decision.
¡Hola! creo que mi guitarra viene con otras capsulas, es del 2016 ... y creo que el color de mi guitarra es purpura, es alguna edición antigua?
Saludos!
Hi ESP,
It seems the Description and Specifications show conflicting info. for pickups Can you verify which are installed and or is there some relation to the pickups.
Thank you
Les
Hi, Thanks for pointing this out. The spec and photo is correct. The pickups we use are the Seymour Duncan Pegasus/Sentient set. We will update the description.
The description says this one is available in Solid Black too, but there´s no pictures. It realy is? I love this model in Black.
Hi, thanks for pointing this out. It was available previously in black finished but has been discontinued.
Someone knos the price?
if you have any questions you may reach out to our customer service team at customerservice@espguitars.com or https://www.espguitars.com/pages/support
Are you ever going to offer solid colors like White, Black, Blue, Red in 6 string Floyd equipped EII Horizons? It has literally been like 5 years or more with this fugly Reindeer Blue and recently with the equally fugly natural burst. UGH.
thanks for the insight!

thanks for letting us know
This one back in black, please.
thanks for the suggestion
I am looking at maybe getting one of these models. I was wondering if anyone knew the body thickness at center and edges. I haven't been able to find local store that carries one to play. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I emailed customer service and they told me they didn't know the specs...lol. Thanks.
should be about 50mm-40mm hope this helps
Please notice that Currently model change the pickup to (Neck) Seymour Duncan SENTIENT, (Bridge) Seymour Duncan PEGASUS
This is currently produced with Seymour Duncan Jazz and Custom 5 pickups, hope this helps.
???dude are you serious ??? why my friend's this model have black label Seymour Duncan Sentient and pegasus????? serial number with 193 end, also I checked on sweet water, one pic from review in 2019 also shown black label Sentient and Pegasus instead classic white label Seymour Duncan.
also why Japanese website said is (Neck) Seymour Duncan SENTIENT, (Bridge) Seymour Duncan PEGASUS
official ESP website: https://espguitars.co.jp/product/5607/
Sweetwater website https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EIIHORQMFRRDB--esp-e-ii-horizon-fr-reindeer-blue
If my friend's guitar is fake model from authorised dealers, that's too shame btw
The newly released E-II models within this line do have Pegasus and Sentient pickups but this model's current specification is a Jazz and Custom 5 set, during production we occasionally do what is called a running change, make a change to a specification and when the model phases out we update the specs, I assume this is what you see with your friends guitar as the sweetwater link you provided shows a jazz and custom 5 set. The Japanese link is similar in that it shows a custom 5/jazz set but notes a different set, we can mention this to them but we do not moderate their website. Not sure why a guitar would be fake because it has a different set of pickups, if you need further information on your friend's instrument you can reach out to our customer service department at customerservice@espguitars.com
Yep, the pic on Japanese website not match the Specification, btw have u take look at the customer review section on Sweetwater ? there's one pic and only pic also don't match the Spec which I think you need to check out. Anyway contact Japanese official to double confirm and make sure our customer not confused on these Specs. I will let my friend send email to customer service to verify.
As you said some model for EII have running change, like my EII MII Black Turquoise Burst hipshot, Before 2019 model is all glossy finish, but in 2019 which is current one I owned have matte neck finish, it might be because the new black nature fade model released in 2019 do same matte neck finish and to match the 2 product as same level, a running change happen.
For this EII Horizon FR, In my own opinion, it also has a running change, which is to match the Pickup same as the new released 2019 black natural burst model. That's why my friend guitar have different pickup not same as pic shown on our website.
When are you guys going to get Andy LaRocque his own Artist series seriously! He is a Grammy nominated Guitarist, Producer and Songwriter for over 30 years now! He deserves it more than any other guitarist I can think of today. An Abigail, Them, Fatal Portrait album cover something like that on an M series would be a Killer guitar like the Slayer and Metallica guitars.
Hey Adam, Thanks for that suggestion. Could happen some day. Every year we are working on new things for the following year. Thanks again for your feedback.
Totally agree with you. Even Mike Wead plays ESP and he's also good. But plus 1 for Andy Laroque for sure.
Is this Andy LaRocque's guitar?
I believe he may have one of these.
Thx Carl. That’s great news. Funny thing is first it was on the specs but they’re not available. Now they’re available but it’s not on the spec
Looking to purchase one within this two weeks. Thx.
Anytime! Hope you enjoy it when you get it!
Carl, one more question. I notice several places online selling the guitar with different SD pickups - SH2 & TB14 instead of what’s listed here Jazz & Custom 5. Why is that?
Hello again, those are Seymour Duncan's pickup model numbers for the Jazz and Custom 5 pickup
I really like this guitar esp. the head design. It looks more versatile and that it can be use for other genres other than Metal. Anyhow, I thought I just read recently on some reviews and saw on some retail stores that they have Push/Pull feature on the knobs on this exact model but when I check it here, it doesn't look like it. So I just want to confirm with you this day of October 2019, is there the P/P feature? Thanks.
Hey V, this will have a push pull, looks like it was just missing on our specs. While some of our instruments may look menacing they can be used for any genre of music.
No, there are no problems with equipment. The problem is that the ESP Horizon's necks are too thick. It can be seen that they were not designed by guitarists.
Hi Vitaliy, Thanks for your comments. Sorry to hear that. Our guitars were definitely designed by guitarists, but yes these models do not have the thinnest necks available on the market.
