Known as the godfather of thrash metal, Gary Holt joined Exodus in 1981 and played in that band’s early days alongside his then-bandmate Kirk Hammett. Over the subsequent 30+ years, Gary has played on every Exodus album. In 2011, his unmistakable super-aggressive playing style made him the ideal choice as the second guitarist in Slayer, and he continues to play in both bands.
