Love my B204-SM, however it seems my neck is twisted.
So I know, how much is a replacement neck?
There seems to be nothing available online
Some years ago I went into a music store to buy a bass. Had my heart set on a Fender P Bass. Tried many others as well which were great, then the guy in the store handed me this ESP. Immediately had a great feel. What a neck! Smooth and silky, comfortable. Went back to the others, including the P bass, but returned to this gorgeous ESP. Couldn’t put it down. Bought it - that was 12 years ago. Have since put in EMG pickups, powerful full sound. I got a P bass later, which is a great bass, but nothing like the feel and power of the Ltd. And I have the greatest respect for the P bass and its legacy. I take the ESP to gigs, practice with the P bass. My band mates all much prefer the sound and presence of the ESP. Thanks for a great looking and playing bass, at a very reasonable price.
This was the first bass i bought back in 2012 and not only has it lasted up to this year 10 years later, but the color, frets, hardware, and TONE continues to be in immaculate condition. I played many gigs with this bass and it continues to live up to its standard, and honestly has a better tone and feel than any other bass i've played with! Listen to Party Rice on any streaming platform and you can get an idea of how good it sounds in a metal or hardcore setting!
I just ordered one of these. My fifth LTD bass, and I love them all!
I just bought this bass and it is an incredible instrument. Forget the $$ point. I own an EB fretless, a MM fretted and other basses. This one is my favorite. The pickups are fantastic - clear, distinct, punchy if you want it, and bright. Nice slim neck makes for easy fingering. Smooth action all the way up the neck and easy access to the upper register notes toward the pickups. Beautiful finish and spalted maple body. Preamp is great. Hands down the best bass I own.
This is the third Ltd Bass I've bought. I'm stunned at the quality of construction, regardless of its price point. If it was made in USA (which I'm a big supporter of), its price would be at least 4 times as much. I'm glad I no longer have to spend a lot of money for a quality instrument.
Just got me one of these, but in a SeeThrough BlackSatin style, and it is just gorgeous! I know you shouldn't base judgement on first impressions, and I may come back with a second opinion later on, but my first impression is that this is a great instrument. It's well balanced and I like the weight. Not heavy per se, but heavy enough to get that sturdy feel that I want. It plays great out of the box. With no setup what so ever other than tuning it, it plays and sounds awesome. The neck and fingerboard fit my hand like a glove. I'm very impressed by the build quality.

Also a nod to Thomann for delivering fast and in perfect condition. They said this was a B-stock with slight trace of use and therefor lowered the price, but I can't find and such trace so that was total BS. I wish more retailers would lie to me like that.
thanks for sharing your thoughts
Hey Carl, thank you for the trip : "the stereo output jack acts as the on/off switch" ... I bought a used B-204SM that's natural wood design and shape is so nice and plays so well, but I thought the battery's life time is short
... so this will solve my problem ! However, the neck was slightly warped and I brought it to an instrument maker to level it ; but it doesn't change my opinion about it, that's a guitar's life and it restarts a new life.
glad you are enjoying it
Picked up one of these used. Great bass. The action is awesome and the eq really good. I've had gig with it for a few months. The input hex nut was lost at a gig and I cant seemed to find a replacement. I tried to use hex from other basses but came seem to find a fit. What size is the hex nut and where can I order a replacement?
Hey Chris, reach out to our service department at customerservice@espguitars.com they can help you out with this.
I just got this bass last month at Wolfe Guitars of Jupiter, FL and it plays very great! It also looks great, which makes me never wanting to stop playing it! It is a very good price for its quality craftsmanship, and it holds up very well! Sadly it has an active EQ, so I will eventually have to replace the battery, but that is the only downside! I will make sure to buy another bass by ESP again in the future.
Hey Brin, thanks for your praise of this bass! Don't look at having to change the battery as a downside, it helps your instrument create it's specific tone! How do you feel about bass strings? They need to be replaced occasionally as well
Be sure to keep your instrument unplugged while not in used, the stereo output jack acts as the on/off switch and when a cable is inserted the circuit will draw power from the battery.
