Daniel S.

Hey, I have a doubt. I own a 401 fm with EMG 60 % 81. Wanting to change them for Seymour Duncan passive pickups and adding the push/pull option. The question is, what is the size of the pots? 3/4 or 3/8?

Thanks!

Carl N.

Hey Daniel, not sure what those measurements are in reference to but the pots on the EMG equipped instruments are just standard EMG pots with an 8mm shaft diameter.  Shouldn't be an issue having standard 250k or 500k pots put in.  Hope this helps!

Really REALLY wish the EC-401B wasn't discontinued. I just played one a few weeks ago but there are NONE available.

Hey Blaine, I hear you. This happens every time we discontinue a model. Maybe you can find one somewhere?

Taren L.

I really like the neck on the EC-256 but liked the thicker bodies on Les Pauls such as the Epiphones. I am considering getting a used older EC-401 with the full-thickness bodies, but I also really like the thinner sound of the coil-split pickups. I found two models, the EC-401QMV and the EC-401FMV, which appear to come with the pickups wired for coil-splitting from the factory. I'm wondering if there are any other full-thickness EC series guitars that ESP has made which include passive pickups wired for coil-splitting that I am missing, or are these the only two? Thank you!

Hi Taren, We made those 2 you mentioned in addition to a few colors of the EC-400VF and EC-401VF. All had either Duncan or Dimarzio pickups which you could split the humbucker. We also have made a few EC-1000T and EC-1001T over the years and currently which can be used, although the current version we offer is using active pickups but they can be split as well with the new EMG and Fishman pickups we are currently using. Hope this helps.

Hello! I have a ltd ec 401fm of the 2011 indonesia. I need to know what the original nut is. Thank you!

Todd B. ESP

Hi Fernando, we used a 42mm molded nut. If you want to replace it you can find a replacement from company such as Graphtech or a generic one from any parts supplier. We do not sell these parts separately. The material is composed of a plastic composite.

What ratings are the volume and tone pots in these guitars?

Todd B. ESP

HI Aaron, These use 25 EMG pots (all EMG active models use these pots).
