I bought this guitar about 2 months ago after waiting about 3 months for my local store to bring it. When they finally brought it i was surprised to see it looks nothing like this picture. The color was darker, there was no inlays around the fretboard, it just looked dull. Sadly i had to return it and went online to hunt for the older model which is in this picture. It's an amazing guitar and by far the best looking one i own, i just don't understand why you changed it in 2018 to remove the inlay around the fretboard.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Robert, Sorry to hear that you weren't happy with your instrument. Recently we did change the fingerboard binding & purfling by removing the abalone purfling and multi binding. Now this model is being produced with single white binding on the fingerboard. This change was done on several models including the EC-1000 and H-1001. We've also updated the fingerboard wood and 12th fret inlay.

What is the difference between this guitar made in Korea and Indonesia in quality?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Gustavo,

There is no noticeable difference in quality. We monitor all our factories to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. The guitar should be of excellent quality regardless of where it's made, and it will have passed our own quality assurance testing.

The sexiest guitar in existence! How I wish it came in a 7 string version. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I keep toying with the idea of getting one of these but then i remember how awkward 6 strings are after playing 7s. Why does every 7 string have to be funeral themed? This is such a stunning guitar! Also, getting rid of the abalone purfling on the fretboard? That used to be one of the best features of the 1000 lineup, I think.
