is yours chambered?? I have a 2019 one from Indonesia, but I heard these guitars were chambered (which I hate the most about guitars these days..).

John S.

HI i have this guitar but i would like to change the hardware for a different color; what locking tuners,  bridge and tail piece would be perfect for this guitar? I have searched on the internet and i found the tone pros tune o matic bridge and tailpiece set, but i found 2 options for the bridge, one with large posts and the other one with small posts which one does ESP install in this guitars?, my other question its about the tuners which ones would fit  my guitar? also it would be nice if I don't have to drill the headstock to install them, Thank you.

Carl N.

Hey John, this instrument will use metric large posts, so a Tone-Pros TB3T like is on there now will fit.  For tuners you will have to do some modifications in order to install newer ones.  If you're unfamiliar with this kind of work I would take your instrument to a technician in your area to have this done.  Hope this helps.

John S.

Carl thank you very much for your response, I live in New Jersey do you know any place where I can find a esp technician or someone that has experience working with this brand?

Carl N.

My condolences John, I used to live in Jersey myself  not sure how far these guys are from you but they're one of my favorite dealers in the Tri-state area.  Their tech Pete has been around instruments for a while.

Isn't it possible to make these kind of guitars with a more minimalist style fret inlays? This guitar is almost perfect but these inlays just don't go with anything.

Carl N.

Hey Devan, the Black Metal series will have no inlays, maybe those are more your style.

AmirParsa

but Black Metal series have only a bridge pickup!

Carl N.

Hey Amriparsa, indeed it does!

Devan Arya

AmirParsa E. I agree with you, I like the Black Metal series so much that I even own the EC model but I'd like also to have this guitar for a different end.

Apparently I'm not the only one complaining about the fret inlays. And this 1000 VB model specifically is one of the most complete and affordable guitars by ESP. It looks so clean and neat except for the inlays on the fretboard that ruin the overall look of the guitar.

I remember seeing the first reviews of the Black Metal series and I've seen many of the reactions saying that "finally no inlays" on the fretboard.

I'm not saying that this guitar shouldn't have any inlays at all, but it could be something more subtle like the LTD M-400M Natural Satin or something.

Carl N.

Thanks for your insight Devan!

Georg

I personally find the inlays just great, but I really dislike how fragile the "Vintage Black" finish is!
Gold paint is wearing off quite fast as well as described here.

Carl N.

Hey Georg, I personally enjoy the inlays too.  Satin finishes in general will be a little tricky to care for and keep looking new if you play often, that can be said for gold hardware too as gold hardware fades and oxidizes quicker than most other plating.  If you wipe down your instrument and hardware each time after use it can help lessen the effects of this but at that point you'll probably be cleaning your guitar more than playing and enjoying it.

Literally the same shape as the headstock.

Does the vb with Seymour Duncan's have an ebony neck also? Most places list it as rosewood but looks ebony to me.

Carl N.

Hey Donald, the older versions of the vintage black with Duncans did have a rosewood board but this has since been changed to ebony following CITES regulations of rosewood.

Donald J.

Great I just ordered one 20 minutes ago and i wanted the ebony fretboard. It comes in tomorrow!!

Carl N.

Hey Donald, hope you enjoy it!
