I've had this guitar for awhile now, love the look of it, but there were some serious quality control issues, so much so I thought I was sent a return. I've fixed most of them, but yeah, hopefully you don't have these issues. The first thing I noticed was the nut was glued on slightly off-center, so the strings didn't naturally fall around the dot inlays, everything was shifted to the high e. That also made the high e string sit closer to the edge of the neck, which was annoying. I replaced the nut with a graph tech 6143, which still needed to be filed to fit the neck better. A couple frets sat a little high and there were also fret sprout issues, which were easy to take care of with a fret file. Still annoying for a nice guitar like this. Everything else was fine. The feel of the guitar is quite nice, the neck feels good, it sounds good, had 0 issues with any electronics or other components, but that neck needed some work.
i have one and its a great guitar, i prefer it over my M2 camo, any chance of an evertune model?
Hey, Really interested in these but I have noticed there are two types of fret markers. The ones in the middle and offset! I really love the offset but cant find these in the UK.. Any help or reasons?
I received this new guitar a few weeks ago and for now, this is the closest to my ideal specs without having to break the bank for a proper E-II (which are probably better made but I couldn’t find the specs and neck I wanted). I have already an LTD MH-1000ET Deluxe and I really love the extra thin neck (with compound radius) and low-profile bridge so I really wanted the same feel and comfort.
Needless to say, the top finish is absolutely gorgeous and that’s the first thing which caught my eyes for that M1000HT.
I am a EMG guy so I need to get used to that different sound that the Fishman Fluence offers but that’s a nice change I think and the pickups deliver for sure (very clear and articulate)! I just wish to have the split-coil to add an extra bit of versatility (other brands provide it with Fishman Fluence pickups).
The locking tuner and bridge work perfectly fine, the guitar stays in tune nicely. The neck and frets are all fine too, I have no complains at all, it’s smooth and comfortable. And I really appreciate the natural satin finish (please stop the lacquered finish on the necks, it looks nice but so uncomfortable).
It’s a detail but the dots inlays are on the side for my guitar (but I saw pics where it’s on the center which I would have preferred, personally). They are also quite dull and hard to spot in the dark.
The main issue I had was, it came with an obvious jack input issue: the input was loose and the connection was very dirty inside which is quite disappointing for a brand new guitar. Clearly the factory QC overlooked this because it was very noticeable and easy to spot. A bit disappointing for an LTD deluxe (made in Korea).
Also, the binding paint on the neck has some minor issues (very noticeable near the body joint but also on the head). Nothing crazy but this was not a player grade guitar, I paid the full price for it…
Except for the few QC issues listed above, I am overall very happy with this new LTD.
I have to say this is one awesome looking guitar. Prefer bolt on necks myself. But I am sure this still feels great.
