I have one of these in my collection and it is an absolutely killer axe. Versatile and capable of just about anything… I can’t recommend one enough.
Would love to see this in the pearl pink!
Is this model a limited release or do you plan to sell it indefinitely?
Just got one from Sweetwater. I grabbed it off the wall and it just felt perfect.
Is this guitar playable in drop c tuning? I read that drop tuning is recommended with longer scales and this is 24.75
@Acclaimed Knives In the unboxing video I shared, I'm playing in drop C, and it sounds and plays amazing! No issues whatsoever. And I have a Floyd Rose float set up video coming tomorrow! I switch out the 9's for 11's, and drop it to drop C! Just search my name on Youtube and you'll find the video tomorrow afternoon!
@Acclaimed Knives Thanks man! I just noticed that the Eclipse '87 NT we're talking about here, has a fixed bridge and not a Floyd Rose. So you'll be totally fine changing tuning with ease. The stock strings might feel a little light in Drop C, but you can definitely get away with it. You'll have to give it a try and see how it feels! Personally, I like 11-52 gauge strings for drop C, and I think they're fine for any tuning, including E. But I understand that you just want to rock the guitar right out of the box, and so yes, I think you'll be fine!
Hi, Yes this guitar could be setup in Drop C. I agree with Rob here. Probably changing strings to 11-52 would be a good starting point. You'll need to readjust the truss rod and action when you make this type of change. We recommend taking it to a good setup or repair person if you are not familiar with this type of work. Hey guys! I just did a review and demo video for the '87 Eclipse (Floyd Rose version)! If you're interested in checking it out, you can find here: https://youtu.be/1oJfoEE3WRo
What are your opinions on playing this tuned down to drop c? Doable or no?
Thanks for your reply btw, I checked out your video and gave it a like.
Are the stock strings ok for tuning down to drop c? I'd like strings that are versatile, which can handle drop c but be ok with standard tuning as well. It would be a pain to have to switch the strings around all the time...
Saving up for this one. But any chance you could send this to me for an early birthday present
Hi Martha, I wish we could send one too, hope that you have a chance to get your hands on one of these soon!
Which hard case is paired with this bad boy?
