I bought this guitar for several reasons; main one was that this body is chambered. It's heavy still. But it has a distinct feel and sound when its played unplugged. Without any amplifier, I notice the guitar resonates incredibly well, and at times feels as though my body resonates with it. I can feel it through the heels of my feet, which is a very unusual feeling, but pretty cool. It's an interesting experience. Plugged into my amplifier it puts out some amazing tones.

The finish is beautiful. The maple figuring appears more subdued as you look directly at the guitar from a few feet away, but when you're playing it the whole thing looks wildly flamed, which I like. Fit and finish is nearly perfect.

I've owned several Epiphones and a PRS with this body style, and this LTD plays, feels, and sounds, better than all of them. This particular one was made in Korea.

I'm not sure if all the negative reviews are just deleted, but this model was extremely disappointing to me.  The weight relief chambering of the full thickness body adds a strange resonance that is not mentioned, which when combined with the Pegasus/Sentient set that already have an "airy" quality to their sound, makes it altogether have a somewhat unusual tone that I didn't at all expect.  I sold it within 24 hours of receiving it.  The Black Natural Burst color on this is beautiful though, even more so in person, and I would simply order the standard EC version of the same color, but for some odd reason they've decided to make that one orange with the addition of weaponized trypophobia.  I really hope the color on this model is utilized in other models at some point, it would be such a waste otherwise, in my opinion.

I have had no issues with the neck after initial setup. And I live in the Midwest, where the weather changes on a dime!

This guitar is just perfect & I don't think I would change anything about it. Easily the slickest Eclipse I've ever owned or played, simply outstanding!

Have you experienced any neck dive with this model?

Marc O.

@Blake T, no neck dive,  if you still  wondered after two years lol, mine is well balanced.

Stephen’s powerful and beautiful music playing on this guitar, is making me want to buy this guitar. She is getting the best tones out of the Pegasus and Sentient pickups.

Hello! Just wanted to say that I received this guitar today and i'm absolutely in love with it. It looks even better in real life and the pickups sound amazing!
If anyone is thinking about buying this guitar, all I can say is go for it, you won't regret it. Stays in tune, sounds fantastic, plays amazing and looks beautiful.
This is my first LTD/ESP and it won't be the last. Thank you for making this instrument!

The only thing i dislike is that the neck on this guitar is called ,thin u‘,  but  it is a lot different from my other 4 LTD EC-1000 Models- where the thin u neck is thinner. This neck is more like a Gibson Les Paul neck... I wish all necks that are declared as ‚thin u‘ would be  the same. Love  this guitar though- would be even better without weight relief...

Carl N.

thanks again for sharing your feelings on the thin u

Arbre D.

Thanks, so it means “traditional” models have thicker neck. It is a useful information cause written nowhere.

What are my chances of getting this particular guitar modified by ESP and get a bare neck with out the flag inlays??? So this guitar but with no inlays?

Carl N.

None, we do not perform modifications or non-warranty repairs to instruments.  You would have to have a local luthier take care of this for you or order an instrument through our custom shop.

Sean P.

Hello lads. These particular frets, are they SS or nickel??? I’m hoping SS for this price point...Also, what does “molded” mean and what type material does that consist of for the nut on this guitar???

thanx!

Carl N.

Unless specifically noted, frets will be nickel/silver, molded would mean plastic.  Hope this helps!

Romain B.

Hi guys ! Do you have the weight of this "traditional" EC, compared to the "normal" EC-1000 ? With the weight relief, is it similar ?
Thanks.

Carl N.

Our instruments aren't regulated by weight so it could be possible to find a traditional model and standard Eclipse that would weigh the same, generally these are around 8-9lbs

Blake T.

What’s the price on a left hand version?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Blake, When it becomes available in a few months from now, the price will be the same as the RH version. I suggest finding an ESP Dealer where you can preorder one when they become available.

Weapon_X

Will these be manufactured in Korea or Indonesia? When will retailers in the US (Sweetwater, Guitar Center, etc...) start shipping these?

Carl N.

Hey Weapon, these are being produced in both Korea and Indonesia.  You would need to contact those retailers to see when they would expect to receive them.  We already have them here at HQ so they may as well.
