I never would have considered an ESP guitar. I don’t play metal and I am too old to have a guitar that pointy! I came across this TE-1000 Evertune. I always wanted to try the Evertune Bridge. I played the guitar in the store for a good while and was so impressed by the playability of the guitar, the unreal tuning stability of the evertune bridge and the lack of sharp pointy parts that I took the guitar home with me. I always turned my nose up at active pickups! These EMGs sound pretty darn good! They do surprisingly well in the low volume “edge of breakup” realm where I live.

It’s just a fun guitar to play. I keep the evertune in the “you can’t bend a note” mode and practice lead work. It really makes you approach soloing in a whole new way. It’s a challenge! And I like challenges!

I liked this guitar so much that I went back to my local guitar shack and pick up that LTD Koa top M1000HT that was hanging next to the TE1000 I purchased 2 days before! Another non pointy surprise hit of a guitar. The Duncan’s are great pups!

Both of these guitars play so well that it begs the question, does a $4000 ESP play 4x better than my two LTDs? Is that possible? I don’t care about the different exotic woods that ESP uses. I don’t care about the fancy finishes. I’ve already expressed my thoughts about the pointy parts!

Duncan pups are Duncan pups whether in a $1000 LTD or a $4000 ESP.
Better tuners don’t cost an extra $3000.
Better Floyd Rose doesn’t cost an extra $3000. (I don’t buy guitars with Floyd Rose bridges)

Quarter sawn necks don’t cost an extra $3000

All of those put together don’t cost an extra $3000

Can someone explain where the ESP “Value” is? Because my 2 LTDs kick butt! And if I can get 4x the butt kicking in buttery, free from finger fatigue, low action, fast neck playability, then as Doc Holiday says….”I’m your huckleberry!” And I will purchase an ESP tomorrow! But If I do end up purchasing an ESP and it ends up not playing any better than my LTD, I will be disappointed.

Im thinking of buying the guitar from thomann but i cant find any information regarding the fret material, i know the newer esp guitars have stainless steel on some of them but Im not sure if this one does , anyone know anything about that?

GREG M.

This piece is really close to what I've been lookin for...which is in this video at 3.00 from  Sade's "Hang On" Montreux jazz festival with player Stuart Matthewman on a fine lookin instrument....a little variance in hardware..maybe the same bridge. and color schemes..options like maybe a Gotoh 510 and I think this piece would be a real flyer

This guitar is a perfect match for me, so just ordered the last one from Thomann, but some info on the weight would be great, and would it ever be possible to get it in a different color, don’t want two guitars on tour in the same color‍♂️

Preston S.

I’ve just purchased this guitar and it’s great.

Where can I get a hard case? The official ST-TE GUITAR FORM FIT CASE isn’t available from any dealers here in the UK (or anywhere else). Has it been discontinued? Is there an alternative hard case that will fit?

Carl N.

Still a current case, and international ESP dealer or distributor can special order one of these items for you if they are not in stock.

I wish this was available, same burst, same ET bridge setup but for a 7 string. I’d buy it so fast. Tele’s need color in 7 string models, leave the satin blacks for the eclipses. Or at least make the 417 have a white option.

Carl N.

thanks for the suggestions

Frederick B.

Is there a particular reason that this guitar ships with the XL120 strings instead of the typical XL110?  I noticed the same thing on the M-1000 Purple Natural Burst, and the only thing the same between the 2 were the EMG 66TW/57TW pickups.  I purchased this server Monday night, so can't wait for it to arrive next week.  Was asking about the difference an string gauge for my own edification. \m/

Carl N.

Different bridge models come equipped with different gauge strings, these can be viewed on the individual model's specifications or via our FAQ section

Frederick B.

Thanks Carl, that was a big help. \m/

Remarkable instrument just as it comes. I'm on the prowl for a prime candidate TE style guitar for a Fluence/Sustainiac(or like) setup. Which could set next to the unmodified version and I think both would be highly functional sonic pallets to get caught up in. As for aesthetic design it's stunning, but as is the TE 200 range which I find impossible to not want but struggle to find anywhere that can keep stock of the full range so I can pick two. I wouldn't have thought the 200 would have any of that "ESP" feel, but they do. Great work on this TE line, something for everyone and some hidden highly functional gems on the bottom shelf. ✌️

Carl N.

Thanks for the comment!

Glad you are enjoying them

Richard K.

This guitar would look amazing in Violet Andromeda!

Carl N.

Thanks for the insight!

Benjamin S.

I own one and it’s a great guitar.  Wish it had a solid top as I had a horrific misfortune when I needed to replace the saddle on one of the strings.  I loosened the strings to remove tension before removing the bridge.  When I held the bridge in place in the back, I heard a pop and it cracked the finish between the bridge and the bridge pickup.  Purely cosmetic but still bothersome.  I don’t feel that this would have happened if it was a solid top as there would have been more support near the top of the guitar.  Word of caution to anyone needing to replace any saddles on the evertune.  Remove the strings completely so there’s zero tension on the bridge.   Unfortunately it’s a factory 2nd so the warranty is up.  :(

Carl N.

Hey Benjamin, sorry to hear about this misfortune, though this probably still would have happened regardless if the instrument had a solid top vs a veneer, finish can only take so much pressure till it cracks.

Benjamin S.

It wasn’t just the finish.  It was the entire piece of wood. I had to use a wood filler to make sure it’s secure in place.  It’s the piece of wood between the bridge and the bridge pickup.  It’s about the thickness of a ruler.  I feel like there could be a stronger support there and this shouldn’t have happened.  I feel like there shouldn’t be a piece that can break off from pressure from the strings.  It’s a major design flaw.

Carl N.

Hey Benjamin, this is the route for the evertune bridge, this would be the same measurement if the spec were a solid top or a veneer.  I hate to play devil's advocate but from your original comment it sounded as though an accident due to not removing tension from the bridge caused this.  Wouldn't really call this a design flaw.

Benjamin S.

I understand your logic on this one.  I know that’s the routing for evertune bridges on any guitar.  It seems to me there’s more space to probably get another couple millimeters if thickness on that piece of wood.  Yes there was SOME tension on the strings but they were extremely loose.  I would have never dreamed the amount of tension would have caused this.  It just seems like it could be stronger whether it’s a solid top of just a little bit thicker.

Jeremy S.

Here's a question. I'm a big fluence guy. How do these EMGs compare? Are they hotter than the standard fluence classics or moderns?

Carl N.

Hey Jeremy, EMG was the original hot active pickup, check out some of our demos and you can hear the difference between these pickups.

Scott G.

Hey, my question is about the maple top. Is it a veener or a maple top and how thick is it?

Carl N.

Hey Scott, this will feature a flamed maple venner about 1mm-2mm thick

Hello Gavin, just wanna say hey & that I'm a massive admirer of your guitar work & The Nephilim's guitar work in general. FOTN is the best guitar band of the last 50 years, in my opinion. Would you maybe put a bug in the ear of the band and come to the States?  They are hugely influential on many bands here, especially my area & it would be great to experience it live.  Much love from Upstate N.Y. , Take Care

Carl N.

Thanks for the comment Ky!

Dustin H.

Hey, still checking this out and unfortunately haven't had a chance to play one yet. I'm curious - What material is the nut made from?

Carl N.

Hey Dustin, this will be a molded graphite nut, hope this helps!

Dustin H.

It does. Thank you!

Stephen H.

This guitar is just too Awesome not to come with Passive pickups. What do you say ESP? Slap in some Duncans and watch the orders roll in.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Stephen, thanks for letting us know. It's always a difficult choice to choose pickups for every model, however I can say that you will continue to see more new model releases featuring passive pickups. Also if you haven't tried these EMG pickups, I suggest you do. They do not sound like your typical EMG 81!

Ralf v.

I'm very interested in this guitar, but am unable to find a lot of media on it online and I don't have access to this model in a nearby store to test drive it. Is there any sources/reviews available on this guitar?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Ralf, thanks for letting us know about this. We will be doing a video for this guitar, however it's a brand new model for this year and just became available recently.

Gav King

Hi Ralf, here's my review/playthrough of it. It's a great guitar!

Todd B. ESP

Thanks for sharing that Gav!

Dustin H.

Any update on the avg weight of this guitar? I'm not seeing it posted here. Thanks

Todd B. ESP

Hey Dustin, sorry about that and thanks for your patience. I think I told you these would be between 7-8 lbs, which is common for our M or MH series. It turns out this TE-1000 ET model is a bit heavier, coming in at just over 9 lbs (about 9.25lbs). It's common that each model will have a slightly different weight so it's possible you can find one lighter but probably not under 8 lbs. hope that helps.

Dustin H.

Thanks Todd, that does help. I appreciate you following up

Todd B. ESP

Sure Dustin, Glad I could help.

Dustin H.

This would've been the perfect guitar for me but the weight was a deal breaker. I know some people think heavy guitar=better tone but I haul my guitars all over the city to gigs / practice etc and 12 lbs is way too much. Not to mention being on stage with this slung on you for an hour or more and you'll definitely feel it.

Would love to have seen the body contoured down, which I'm confident that ESP could do while maintaining their TE shape. Its a shame. I was gonna get this. Love the Evertune bridge, ebony fret board /w 24 frets, set thru, and the finish.  Very cool & classy headstock shape too.  Almost checked every box.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Dustin, Sorry to hear that. I understand about guitars being too heavy. Where did you see that the weight is 12 lbs? That seems a bit extreme and I doubt that this model weighs that much. If you would like the average weight for this model we can post it here for your reference in case you may still be interested.

Dustin H.

Yes I'd still be interested if it's substantially less than that. If it's 7-8 lbs, I'd definitely be into it. A seller on reverb told me 12 lbs. Thanks Todd!

Todd B. ESP

Hi Dustin, sorry for the late reply. The weight should be in that range. I'll get a confirmation at the beginning of next week.

Dustin H.

Sounds good.  Thanks Todd

Barnette

when is the lefty version coming out?  also why are none of the 2019 left handed guitars in the left handed section?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Barnette, The lefty version should be available within the next month or so, depending on who has already placed orders for them or not. They will be going up on our site soon, but we have to photograph them first when they come in.
