I guess that's why the SN-1000FRs are on sale at Guitar Center, they are making room for this. I definitely like this one a lot better, Alder is my favorite wood type and on the specs for the ones on sale it says Basswood, I've always heard good things but I don't have any experience with it. I was going to buy one just because the sale is so good but looking at this, I think I just might wait and pay the full price because this model looks amazing. I love the Roasted Maple Neck, very cool!
Hi Richard, yes this is the newer version, but the old versions should be alder as well so nothing wrong with going for the older version if you get a good deal! Glad you like the new design.

Love the shape and look of this guitar! I hope this SN/snapper model gets more love. Id like to see more color options. Im currently eyeing Charvel Socal models and this would give it a run for the money. Word?
