Lord M.

Is the neck on this guitar thick or is it more like a thin neck?

Carl N.

Hey Lord, all thin U necks will be 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the 12th, hope this helps.

Is the usage of battery a mandatory? What kind of sound will I get if I won't use it? Really interested in this guitar but I don't want to have a guitar which can't produce a proper sound without battery. Thanks.

Carl N.

Hey Alex, all active electronics will need a battery to produce output but don't let that discourage you from this instrument.  These are a great set of pickups!  The cool thing about guitars though is that you can always swap out parts and electronics if you prefer other branded pickups or hardware.

Alex S.

Carl N., I understand where you going to, but I would like to buy a guitar where I don't have to change something  I was looking for Eclipse for a long time and now there is a good guitar with active electronics, which is no go for me. I think there should be an option.

Carl N.

Totally understandable Alex, keep in mind that there are millions of players out there and each have their own preferences as to what they prefer on an instrument.  While we try to make as many offerings as we can, at times it is not feasible to make every combination of hardware, electronics, color, and orientation available.

Great tone and very versatile, how much does it weight ?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Dan, the weight is approximately 9.5lbs.

Can I get a classic metal tone like Metallica or Megadeth from this guitar ?

Arnnav G.

Or would you recommend the one with modern fishman fluence pickups

Todd B. ESP

Hi Arnnav, If you want to get a classic Metal tone like Metallica we recommend something with an EMG 81 / 60 combination. This guitar has Fluence Open Core pickups which are geared more towards a passive rock overdrive tone. It's not the best choice for classic metal tones. If you are not wanting to try EMG and want to try Fishman then for sure the Fluence Modern Humbuckers are the ones to use for metal tones.

I think I will just buy the esp ltd Snakebyte

Todd B. ESP

Hi Arnnav, That should be a great fit for you we hope. Let us know if you do get one and how you like it.

How does this guitar do in a high gain scenario? I think this guitar is super cool and very versatile but the video above doesn't address how the pickups do when playing metal.

Todd B. ESP

Hi David, All the Fluence pickups are very quiet. That's one thing I continue to hear from everyone who tries them. This particular pickup set is more geared towards classic rock, not heavy metal, however I'm sure that an overwound classic pickup can be tweaked for heavier music. This guitar should do fine if put through a high gain amp it just won't have that razor sharp edgy tone like an EMG or Fluence Modern. It will be warmer and fuller sounding.
