Mine arrived yesterday. Great weight and feel, be sure to charge up the luminlay markers. They're nice and bright in low light. Mine has the EMG set I play in drop C# either full fuzz or full gain and takes it well. Tuners are not locking for those asking but I will swap them out eventually. Gotoh is the only way to go!! Put on my strap lock buttons and my only minor critique would be the placement on that upper horn. It can get a bit annoying on your hip if you play straight on. Very happy with it and will slowly do some upgrades in time
Will this model still be available? Or did the volsung-200 take over for 2023? I think it’s awesome and I was hoping there would be a more affordable model because 1700 dollars isn’t punk rock. But the volsung distressed model with the EMG DMF SIGNATURE pickups and GITD dot inlays is thin neck and light weight is awesome !
Is the Volsung head heavy on the guitar strap? If so, how can this be changed?
(I hate it when the guitar falls when I take my left hand off the neck)
Hey!
Are the Gotoh tuners locking on this guitar?
Are theses made in Korea or Indonesia?
Thanks!
These will be non-locking tuners. Currently produced in Korea
I recently purchased the Volsung in Danish Camo and noticed that it has taller frets in comparison and feel to my Les Paul, is this typical of ESP/LTD guitars.
Hey Derek, without knowing what particular frets are on your other instrument I would assume this is your first experience with extra jumbo frets. They're a bit wider and taller than most. Hope this helps.
Bought one, why on my pickup it's not written EMG like the one on the picture?
Hi David, Please ask your dealer where purchased. Last year we made this model with Seymour Duncan pickups but the artist switched to EMG pickups now. SO this year we have changed to use EMG. It is possible you purchased the one from last year.
I have the new version distress black that I bought from an official esp dealer
Hi David, Both versions are distressed black. This is why you need to ask your dealer. They can find out which item was purchased. There are 2 different product skus. Alternatively you may contact our customer service department and maybe they can help. But ultimately you have to discuss your options with the dealer since you purchased the guitar from the dealer.
Is there going to be a new model of the Volsung coming out? I noticed you have this one on the clearance page.
Hi Ronald, There is no new model, but you may have seen the old version with the Seymour Duncan (He changed from SD to EMG last year).
Hello, I have been informed by a big UK store that this guitar was discontinued... Is it true ?
HI Lonestar, This model has not been discontinued but the artist did switch from Seymour Duncan to EMG, so our current version has EMG pickups, and we discontinued the old SKU with the Duncan pickups.
Question regarding the pick ups. Originally this model had the seymore duncans. Is that still the case in the new ones now that the emg dmf is out. Even the descriptions on the page differ.
hi Dustin, we are making these with EMG pickups now since Lars switched from Seymour Duncan to EMG.
This is such a nice guitar with Seymour Duncan Distortions, I never played it but it would great if I had the money. The Norse Mythology reference "VOLSUNG" is a cool touch but I miss the Danish Camo. Do you think there will be more colours?
Hi Zildjainzone, Currently this is the only color offered and we don't currently offer the Danish camo but you can still find them probably online or in some stores.
