Hi Todd,

Are all the M-200FM series China made?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Aron,

We are currently manufacturing this model in both China and Indonesia. However, we constantly monitor production standards at our various factories in Asia where we produce LTD models. Should we determine that a certain facility is capable of manufacturing an instrument to ESP's required standard or better, we may decide to shift production, or in some cases share production of a model, wherever that factory may be located. The guitar should be of excellent quality regardless of where it's made, and it will have passed our own quality assurance testing.

Thanks, that sounds comforting.

Hi Aron, Glad to hear that.

Louis W W.

This guitar is made out of mahogany, and some mahogany guitars I have played have either been really light or really heavy, does anyone know if this guitar is a heavy or light?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Louis, These are usually on the lighter side, not heavy mahogany.

I have the M200FM in red. Just wondering if I change the selector switch to a 5-way & the volume pot to push-pull if I can split the coils of the pickups &/or get the pickups to go out of phase? Lastly, can I do this with just the 5-way switch modification (nb., is it necessary to change the pot to push pull)? Thanks!

Todd B. ESP

Hi greyes, to split the coils of both pickups you can use a push pull pot like you described. It can split the coil for each humbucker at the same time. You can put in a 5-way switch if you want and there are some switches that can give you some different sounds. Check out the Schaller 5-way Megaswitch. The push pull pot is probably the easiest way to go and should do what you want. It's not necessary to do both, you will get 2 different results with each option. For example, with push pull you can split the pickup alone and have a true single coil, but with the 5-way you only get a split sound when combining 2 pickups.

Thanks for the info.. I think I'll go with the push/pull pot!

Hello! I have two beautiful Ltd and I am very happy with them! One question. What maple flame quality does the m300fm use? Thank you!

Todd B. ESP

Hi Fernando, Glad to hear that. We use the same type of Flame Maple quality for all our our instruments, but generally each piece of wood veneer is different (cut out from a different piece of flamed maple), so some will look better than others. Even though that is true the general quality level is the same for all our instruments in the 100-400 range. We do try to use our highest quality flamed maple veneer for our 1000 series. Please note: all these guitars are using a veneer, which is a real piece of wood but it is very thin (around 1mm).
