Gary R.

Any plans to re-release this guitar in the green finish?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Gary, No plans to re-release that one. It was a special edition and limited production run.

Ratfink

what is the difference in the thin u and extra thin u neck shape?

Todd B. ESP

Hi  Rob, The neck shape is overall the same, but the extra thin us is about 1mm thinner.

Blake P.

How come ESP doesn't make Kirk's signature Mummy guitar? I'd buy it in a heart beat. After I buy my half stack amp, I'm going to save up for this guitar.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Blake, All those graphics have to be licensed by the company who owns them. Cross your fingers and hopefully we can do one in the future.

Just got this today.  Beautiful in person , plays amazing,  sounds great.  Really wish esp wasn't like Gibson and prs with the higher end models bcuz I've owned a real kh2 and there is no reason a real esp should be 4000 bucks more than an ltd. My dream guitar was a white Ouija but 10 grand? Never gonna happen.  Lol or 12 grand  for a natural ouija. Don't make them limited and wouldn't have to charge as much. You screw the real players and let the idiot collectors get them and put em on a wall, then don't play them. So gotoh tuners, original floyd, different neck radius, esp on headstock,  rosewood fingerboard, and "handmade" make a 4000 difference or with some models. Cmon. O well. Esp/ltd for life

Todd B. ESP

Hi Plozcfh, Thanks for your comments. We understand the price difference between many LTD and ESP models is quite high.  It really comes down to the manufacturing cost more than these models being Limited Production. Our manufacturing cost to make ESP Custom Shop instruments in Japan is rather high so unfortunately we can't offer those models for less than we do. That's why we have other brands like E-II and LTD in our lineup. Anyway, glad you like your KH-602 and hope you enjoy it!

Frank K.

Wish it came with a satin finsih neck instead of a painted neck.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Frank, I hear you. Most players prefer a satin feel on the neck. Kirk does like his back of the neck with gloss paint so that's how we make them. you could easily modify it by taping it off and lightly sanding it to have the same feel. I did that to my very first guitar and know lots of guys who do that to make their instrument feel better.

Frank K.

Hi Todd, I would 100% disagree with you regarding your comment that Kirk prefers painted gloss necks.

  • Ouija Guitars - all Satin
  • Original KH2's - all Satin
  • ESP KH2 Purple Sparkle - Satin
  • ESP White Zombie - Satin
  • ESP Demonology - Satin
  • ESP Green Burst - Satin
  • ESP Nosferatu - Satin
  • ESP Dracula - Satin
  • ESP Bride of Frankenstein - Satin

Shall I go on?

It seems for the ESP USA or Japan models the guitars come with satin necks like the way Kirk has them... but for the LTD Korea made models, the company went cheap and went with the non-popular painted gloss necks.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Frank,

ESP built all those guitars you list, w/gloss necks except the KH-2 bolt on. Kirk just likes the unfinished look (so natural wood, but with natural gloss finish).

You are correct that the LTD line is different. They don't have the natural back of the neck. Generally speaking for the ESP version if it is neck thru it will have a natural unpainted back of neck with gloss finish, but for the bolt on KH-2 it does have a natural back of neck with satin finish. The bolt on version would be the only one with a satin fish.

Sephiroth

Hey Frank, do you have any supporting evidence to go with your claim Kirk's guitars have satin necks? I ordered my KH-3 and White Zombie with Satin grip on the neck as that is my preference, but have not seen any information to suggest that is how Kirk has his.

Do you just mean an unpainted neck (due to the LTD having a purple sparkle painted neck, while the ESP version is a natural finish with high gloss?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Sephiroth, Yes I think Frank was pointing out the fact that the ESP versions all have natural paint on the back of the neck while the LTD's have the color matching the body.

Frank K.

The proof is just look at the necks of 90% of all Kirk's guitars. No paint, just a nice wood finish with most probably a light coat of lacquer finish.

Todd B. ESP

Hey Frank, Hopefully I've cleared this up a bit for you and everyone. ESP's have natural gloss paint on the back of the neck so the wood is showing. LTD's have the matching paint color on the back.

Frank K.

Hi Todd,

Thanks you did I still think the guitars should be with natural wood w/gloss... its a better look especially on thr headstocks. When the necks are painted to match the body its changes the look.

Todd B. ESP

Hi Frank, Ok. Thanks. I understand what you mean and that's certainly something we can look into.
