I've had one of these in brown burst for 5 years now.  I got it free thru a rewards program at a company I used to work for.  I instantly took a liking to it, being a strat/superstrat guy.

The pickups were muddy and the frets were dull. Despite those 2 things, I liked it enough to grab an ec401v. This 256 went to my daughter as her first guitar, based solely on the price I got it for.

Well, I traded an ibanez rg3xxv to get it back. I swapped a set of full shreds (great in short scale mahogany) in it and polished the frets.  It's an absolute beast now!

The jatoba board darkened a bit, and really compliments the brown color. This is one sexy looker too.  I'd say it's my favorite fancy topped guitar. The flamed veneer is 5a quality on mine.  The back has the nice ribbon quality that African sapele gets.

To express how good these guitars can be, I am selling my 401v.  I also really want an ec1000, but can't justify the money when this guy is so good. Factor in the point that I got it free and it makes it that much better.

It's a keeper for sure now!

I own 2 the cherryburst and the white one. Love them both, i swapped out the puck up with dragonfire screamers. They sound and play better the my lead guitarist paul reed smiths. People always wanna play my gear. Its funny

I own the ec 256 dbsb for 4 years now. On left handed version. It's my nr 1 guitar and I'm in love with the color, the feel and the quality of the guitar. Although I wasn't happy with the fretboard at the beginning, after a fret dressing and a good setup, the guitar became much better. The pickups are decent, but if you put a set of SD pickups and locking tuners, like I did, you have an ec 1000, with less money than the original. Another happy player....buy it...recommended

Hi I'm from Indonesia. My EC-256 was made in Indonesia. Couldn't be happier with this stunning guitar

Todd B. ESP

Hi, Glad to hear that and thank you for choosing ESP!

Eduardo S.

these pickups are either normal size or f-spaced,tks

Carl N.

yes, those would be the kinds of spacing we use on our instruments, this one will be standard spacing

Marcelo C.

This looks stunning. I assume this is a flamed maple veneer, but is it glued on top of a plain maple top or straight on top of the mahogany body? In other words, is there any thickness to the maple top or is it just the flamed veneer?

Marcelo C.

Another way to ask my question: is there a maple cap between the veneer and the mahogany body?

Carl N.

Hey Marcelo, this will just have a flamed maple veneer.  Hope this helps.

Dario M.

Hello, what’s Pole the spacing for the bridge pickup? Standard 48mm or  Trem spaced 52mm?

Carl N.

Hey Dario, these will have standard spacing, as there is no trem on this instrument.

Hello Roberto, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We take your honest feedback and use it to help make our products better. I'm glad to hear that you like your EC-256 which you previously purchased. However we are disappointed to hear that you were not happy with your most recent purchase. We will work on improving whatever we can and we thank you for contacting us.

Translation: I purchased another LTD EC-256 since I already have one Made in Vietnam and I am very satisfied with it. Unfortunately, this new guitar is Made in China and the quality is not even comparable to that made in Vietnam. I have 2 more Ltds, none of which are Made in China and I must say I am satisfied with it. My next guitar will be another Ltd, but only when they return to the previous production site. Unfortunately, the Chinese quality is visible and this is very sorry, because I have always considered the Ltd to be excellent guitars ... until my last purchase

Thank you for the information

Why anyone would buy an Epiphone LP instead of this is a mystery to me.

Alexandre C.

Maybe they want not as good looking, shitty sounding and plastic feeling guitars... But yeah, no reason at all to not choose an EC over an Epiphone.
