I really like the Schecter banshee 7-strings w/ FR but my allegiance is to ESP and I’d be proud to own this beauty. Would love to know how the JB Seymour Duncan sound on a guitar with mohagony body?

    HI David, Thanks for your allegiance to ESP! The JB is a rather hot sounding pickup with Alnico 5 magnets and overwound coils. It's been a "modern classic" for over 20 years at least. It depends what you are looking for whether you will like it or not. If you are going for high output and fat , thick, maybe even dark tones, this pickup will probably deliver that but if you want more clarity then I would suggest something with less output. There are so many choices when it comes to pickups that you can drive yourself crazy with all the options. The JB will be a good starting point for sure. Most people like it.

          Love mine, plays like a dream. My only question is the guitar doesn't clean up when turning down the volume ,it just shuts off. Is this a malfunction or by design? With the knob being so close to the pickup I've heard some people have a problem hitting it and may accidentally turn it down.
