How much would it cost to have a kill switch installed in a guitar like this a good one in an f-200

Carl N.

Hey Hunter, currently ESP does not take in customer instruments to perform modifications or non-warranty repairs.  Individual shops and guitar tech costs will differ for something like this but the switches themselves are around $5-$8 if it helps.

I had a 7 dollar one put in and it killed the sound of my guitar completely even when I wasn't pressing the button

Hey Hunter, might need to have a professional take a look at it.  A kill switch wired properly shouldn't adversely affect the tone of your instrument.  Usually this will just bridge your output signal with your ground so that when activated it "kills" your output.

a professional installed it the kill switch is just bad

i owned a esp ltd f-100fm guitar more than ten years ago but something happened and it broke down. that was the only esp guitar and one of the best guitars I had ever owned.

Hi Bee, Glad you liked your F-100FM guitar and hope you can get it up and running again. Guitars are similar to cars - they may break down or need some repairs every so often to keep them running in top shape. Something like a "tune-up" or setup would be a good idea to make it work again.

Hey Hunter, thanks for your comments. Glad you like your new guitar!

My first guitar was an F-50 and after 12 years ( and 4 other, higher end custom guitars) I still love it... any chance the F-2e will come back? Maybe with a sustainiac at the neck? ... please...?

Hi Tristan, Wow, cool! That guitar sure has held up over the years, that's always great to hear. Not sure why the F-2 E (Ebony) was discontinued when it was, but it's not available now. However , we do cycle products back into the product line from time to time. Maybe that one can resurface some day. Sustainiac? If there are more customers asking for Sustainiac then we can always consider putting one on something.
