What is the quality like on this guitar? I've heard different things both good and bad. Any advise is much appreciated.

I have a black version TE-200 and it doesn't have coil tapping via the tone knob. I don't care, it's still a fantastic guitar and I love it. I also have friends who are far better and more experienced guitarists than I am and they love it too and really enjoy showing me how much better it can sound in the right hands

Similar to some other comments here. I have a snow white TE 200 with the coil split function, but recently purchased a See Through Black Cherry TE 200 which does not have a coil split, The tone knob is not a push pull and the Volume and tone knobs do not have the hole and small screw to hold them onto the pot stem as my white model has to secure them to the pots, Instead they are just press on knobs and obviously not designed to function as push pull knobs.

Why does my See Through Black Cherry Maple not have the coil split when the spec says it does? Very disappointing the guitar does not feature this.

Can I get a clarification on the fret material used in these guitars, please? (Cupronickel or stainless steel?)

Eric V.

I purchased a snow white version of this guitar in late December 2021. The versatility of the coil split in the tone knob is nice. However, the neck needs to be removed in order to remove the pick guard and neck humbucker which was necessary as the neck pick up wasn't functioning properly upon arrival. I replaced both the pick ups with a Seymour Duncan Sentient and Pegasus combo and am very pleased with the result.

Overall, a good platform for a few mods if you like the design and a good entry level guitar for its price point.

I just got mine last week, but mine doesn't come with coil-split at the tone knob, why?

David H.

That's pretty standard for me. I mean it's a 5 hundred dollar guitar so I always upgrade the electronics. I am probably going to buy one of these

I just receive the cherry one. And the quality really go beyond my expectation. The guitar feel so good and the quality is A1. Just love it so much

I have one of these and I absolutely love it. Probably my favourite guitar. Would love to see a 7 string version with an Evertune and larger neck scale for lower tunings. The Steph Carpenter signature T models are ok but I just can't get on with that middle pickup being in the way.

Hi! I live in Ukraine. I found this guitar and fell in love. Found some musical stores in Ukraine, they say this guitar is unavailable in Ukraine, and no idea when I can purchase it. I can't even make a pre-order. I even ready to wait for it for as long as it requires but need to be sure I'll get it once it is produced and delivered. So, my question is: how can I order/pre-order it? Thanks!

I Recently Purchased A TE 200, While The Guitar Itself Is Acceptable, The Tuning Machines Are A Tremendous Pain In The Rear They Are Very Hard To Turn, Bad Enough That I Feared Breaking The Tuner Button. What Are Some Replacements That Would Drop In Without Modifying The Existing Tuner Hole Dimensions. Thank You. Would Love To Purchase LTD Locking Tuners If Possible.

Does this guitar support coil-split?

Todd B. ESP

Hello, Yes it does. It comes with a push pull switch on tone control. When you pull up on the tone, both neck and bridge pickups are split. We've updated this in the pickup specification.

I bought two of these guitars at different times. The first knowing that it was B-Stock of Chinese manufacture and with a revision stamp in the USA, and the second under direct order in musicianfriend's or samash I no longer remember it (it was a year ago) and it was a special order which took more than a month to deliver while it was manufactured. When I got to my house, I could see that it was manufactured in Indonesia, it did not have a revision stamp in the USA, despite having bought it in this country. But the truth is that the quality difference between the two is enormous, the B-Stock guitar has better quality than the new one made in Indonesia. The diameter of the NUT is different between the two, one is NUT 43mm and the other is NUT 42mm. The paint finishes and the wood used in the fingerboard is also different from one to the other. I am very sad and unmotivated about this.

I got mine last month and am thrilled with the finish and quality of this guitar , I also have a ltd horizon from the 90,s and it has been the best sounding guitar ever, stays in tune great and plays like a much more expensive guitar, like they say dont,t let the price fool you. top notch quality and value, Thanks Esp The Legend approves this message!

Thank you very much for your comments! We are really happy to hear how much you love your new guitar and your old one! Thanks for choosing ESP!

Hi ESP, Im looking at buying one of these as it looks fantastic in snow white. I would be looking to install a Shaller Hannes bridge though, would you be able to supply detail on the stock bridge (dimensions) so were able to see how close the string through holes line up etc?

Todd B. ESP

Hi, It would be best to contact our customer service dept. to see if they can help with your request. Most likely those holes will not be a perfect match to that type of bridge but you should be able to make it work with some modifications. Hi! I was looking at this model as an alternative to the TE-1000, I much prefer passive pickups over the 1000's active. is this a good alternative to that model, or are there any significant differences

I just bought my 3rd guitar from you guys

-esp eclipse

-esp TB7

and now -Ltd te-200

, the guitar will be delivered to my house tomorrow, I noticed in the video it said a rosewood fretboard but it’s now listed as Jatoba. Kind of annoyed with that. I don’t like how bright colored Jatoba boards are. Any suggestions on darkening it ? Thank you.

Carl N.

You could try stains or dyes.  Our specifications are subject to change, looks like this video was made while these instruments still had been produced with rosewood fingerboards, which has since changed.

When will this guitar with the snow White finish be in stock again?.

currently the estimated arrival shown when added to your cart is July 7th
