I think this guitar would look much more attractive with a dark rosewood or ebony fingerboard otherwise beautiful. What is the cost of this guitar and how much would it cost to change the fretboard?when would you be able to get one out to New Zealand?cheers

Hi Lee, thanks for your comments and suggestions. For pricing and availability please contact your local distributor. As far as special orders, our standard production line cannot be special ordered. They are built as you see them on our website. Here is a link to our distributor page: https://www.espguitars.com/locations?categories=intl-distributors

Thanks for the reply. I have also downloaded a guitar from your configurator USA models. I have an ebony fretboard and have been told this cannot be shipped internationally because ebony is an endangered wood on the CITES list. Is this correct as I thought it was only rosewood that applies to?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Lee, Ebony is not on the CITES list of endangered species. Yes rosewood is on that list, but we don't currently use rosewood for our UsA guitars.

Hello a question the access to the top frets that is so comfortable I have an ec 401 of the year 2015 it seems to me and the construction is equal to all the lp to say it in some way what makes it a bit difficult to enter the high frets as the Union of the body with the neck but to see these newer models and see that the Union neck and body is different I wonder how it is to deliver to the high frets

Todd B. ESP

Hi Martin, Yes our new "set thru" neck heel allows easy access to the upper frets. It is very smooth and feels more like a neck thru guitar.

I want an EC model with an Ebony Fretboard, 24 Frets and a Floyd Rose. I settled for Sweetwater’s Violet Shadow version of this guitar but I just wish it had an Ebony Fretboard. I’d rather have a 24 Fret Rosewood Fretboard than a 22 Fret Ebony Fretboard like the Gary Holt model but just barely. I don’t know why it’s impossible to get the specs I want on an EC model but hopefully one day, preferably in an E-II EC model you guys will make one.

Hi Richard, Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Those are some good points and I will pass them along to our design team.

Lucas S.

Are you guys going to upload a video of this guitar? Looks awesome!

Todd B. ESP

Hi Lucas, thanks for that suggestion. We are always working on videos and I will pass along this recommendation to our media team.

Welp it looked good before, and I like the new look of it EXCEPT this really should have had the Macassar Ebony board. Is this the Floyd that comes with a a big brass block?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Adam, thanks for your comments. No we do not currently use the big brass block. This 1000 series FR bridge is what they refer to as the "ORIGINAL" spec, but made in Asia rather than Germany. the materials and build are the same as the Original from Germany but made at a more affordable price. We are currently using the "SE" version which includes Stainless Steel screws for lock nut and saddles.
