Hwang Ui-jo and his sister-in-law appointed the same law firm, but resigned ‘Two-Party Agency’ Controversy

Hwang Ui-jo hired the same law firm on charges of exposing his private life and making threats. He submitted a resignation letter. He appears to be aware of the possibility of violating the Attorney-at-Law Act. The first trial for his sister-in-law will be held in January next year.

It was discovered that Hwang's sister-in-law, who was put on trial on charges of threatening South Korea's national soccer team player Hwang Ui-jo (31, Norwich City) by posting a post exposing his private life, had hired the same law firm as Hwang.

According to the legal community on the 14th, Law Firm B, which was in charge of representing Hwang's sister-in-law, Mr. A, submitted a resignation letter as a lawyer to the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Agreement Division 31 (Chief Judge Lee Jung-min) the day before.

Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (threats of retaliation, etc.), was arrested and indicted on the 8th, and Law Firm B is also in charge of defending Mr. Hwang.

According to the Attorney General's Law, so-called 'two-party representation', in which a person takes on another case delegated by the other party to the case being handled, is prohibited. It is interpreted that this is because it can hinder the uncovering of the substantive truth, such as concealment and distortion of the case during the investigation and trial process.

It is known that Law Firm B took the case, but did not participate in the investigation process. It is reported that the Korean Bar Association plans to decide whether to investigate after internal discussion as there is a possibility of violating the Attorney-at-Law Act.

Last June, Ms. A claimed to be Mr. Hwang's former lover, and she shared photos and sex videos of Mr. Hwang and other women on social media, and claimed that Mr. Hwang had relationships with multiple women and caused harm to them. was indicted.

The prosecution has requested the Seoul Digital Sex Crime Safety Support Center to delete the distributed video. The police investigation into the illegal filming charges against Mr. Hwang is currently underway.

The court designated Mr. A's first trial date as the morning of January 8. 스포츠토토맨
