i have a f-500 with the emg 81/85 combo and i want to switch out the 81 for a blackout metal ahb-2 but, with the 85 in the neck i never used it because i always found it sounded muddy even when it was clean, i was thinking of putting the 81 in the neck or maybe the blackout abh-1 neck pickup. i cant really get a good clean sound out of the ahb-2 because its too high output and i need a good clean sound. any suggestions on the neck pickup? my entire plan is to take offf the tone pot and put the volume there and put a switch where the volume was for the different setting on the ahb-2 pickup, i may even just use a killswitch instead of the volume because i only have it turned up full or off. any ideas for wiring or thoughts on a killswitch would help.
