Newbie questions regarding pick ups.

    I am a newbie and I am looking for a high quality all around guitar and noticed the ESP LTD EC-1000 had very good reviews.  My only issues is that there are so many models and pick up configurations that I am not sure which model is best for me.  I like all types of music except heavy metal.  Which model do you think is the best all around non-metal guitar?  Thanks.

    Christopher/Shane, your best bet is to watch videos on YouTube and find what you like, if you can't play it in person. The EMGs have been used in many genres, but they're mostly found in the hands of metal players, so they're probably not going to be what you're looking for.
