I have the satin black TE-401 with EMG81/60 pickup set and I like to run it with a 5150 and OD808 on my Ampero. I'm not sure if it's an issue with how it is set up but it sounds INCREDIBLY shrill--as if I was hitting a pitch harmonic. The frequencies seem to be in the 3-4khz range. Here's an example of some riffs where you can hear it. I tried lowering pickups and even swapping out the stock tone cap for a 104. My EC1000 sounds much warmer and fuller, but I don't know if this is due to it being heavier or short scale with a TOM bridge. Any ideas?
