Locking Tuner Upgrade - LTD EC-407

    Hello,


    I've recently purchased a used LTD EC-407, (black with dark red cherry burst), made in Indonesia. It comes with stock ESP tuners (non locking) which have been worn and are beginning to slip. I'm looking at replacing these.

     

    I'm considering purchasing the 4+3 hipshot locking tuners but was curious if anyone here had any experience replacing the ESP tuners. I've read a few different places that holes may need to be drilled and I'm not entirely what measurements are needed to purchase these.

    Can anyone offer any insight?

    I’ve never had any experience with that particular set. I have used gotoh locking tuners and they worked great. I had an MH so the were a six in line set but they did match up with the tuner screw holes.

        Yeah, this has the 4+3 tuners where 4 are on bass side and 3 on the other. 

         

        I'm gonna buy these and see how I make out. Worst case I can just return them but I'll update this thread with findings for anyone else who may run into this.
