7 string post height

    Hey y'all, 

     

    I'm in the process of updating my m-107 from 17 years ago (don't laugh).

     

    I was looking at putting hipshot open gear tuners on the guitar. The tallest string posts they offer is point827", but the posts on the guitar are point91" unless I'm not measuring right with my caliper. Am I going to screw myself by putting the 827 on there or is it just a matter of making an adjustment at the bridge?

    (the "point" in the message is because the forum software thinks the . in front of a number is a url, which I'm not allowed to post as this is my first thread.)

    It shouldn't affect the bridge at all. It just affects how much string break (angle) there is over the nut, and how much post there is to wrap the string.
