Some do but there isn't a real good explanation of why, exactly. Some people claim it's because of exposure to the sunlight, but I have a 2005 Eclipse in snow white and have kept it on a stand for years and it's still super white.

Personally (and without any evidence) I think part of the cause is from leaving it in the case. The gasses given off from the finish hardening combined with the adhesives keeping the fabric and foam in the case in such an enclosed space cause a reaction.
