Available Right Now: LTD & E-II GB Series Basses

Back in the old days of yore, choosing a bass was easy... because you really had no choices. You basically had one company who made two basses using the same shape, and so you picked one of those and made do with whatever compromises were necessary to have the bass be right for your sound and your style of playing. As time went by, the range of basses expanded, and of course today you have plenty of options when it's time to select a new bass. Still, a majority of these new instruments just try to deliver slight improvements of what's already out there.

That's why, in 2018, ESP decided to give bass players in every genre of music a completely new option with the GB Series, available in LTD and ESP E-II versions. Unlike any bass we've made before -- or any other bass for that matter -- the GB Series combines a completely retro-cool design with a terrific set of components and electronics that allow you to truly stand out from the crowd.

Available in Sea Foam Green (with maple fingerboard) or Black (with pao ferro fingerboard), the GB-4 is completely unique among the LTD series of basses with its powerful and versatile electronics that combine a set of passive Seymour Duncan SSB-4 pickups with Duncan’s STC-3M3 active EQ. You’ll not only be able to sculpt your tone with stacked treble/bass controls and a dedicated midrange control; you also get a push-pull feature on the volume knob that engages the GB-4’s slap switch, a special EQ contour voiced specifically for slap bass. There are even trim pots on the circuit board that can be tweaked to preset the slap EQ contour right where you want it. Pro-quality components include a solid Gotoh bridge with brass saddles that allows for both standard and string-thru-body setups.

The bridge on the E-II GB basses is the Hipshot A Style, and it features Schaller straplocks and Gotoh tuners.
