ESP RZK-II BURNT
ESP RZK-II BURNT
DISTRESSED & BURNT

One of the most intensely distinctive guitars offered in the ESP Signature Series is the ESP RZK-II BURNT, and "intensely distinctive" is also an apt description of its designer: Richard Z. Kruspe of the world-renowned Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness) band Rammstein. The RZK-II BURNT is created one-at-a-time by hand in the ESP Custom Shop in Japan. "Distressed" doesn't quite cover the kind of artistic treatment given this instrument by our ESP artisans. The guitar's body is thoroughly gouged and burned, giving the appearance that it's lived through some kind of disaster, or ritualistic sacrifice. In any case, no detail goes unattended here, from the matched finish treatment on the headstock to the patina on the pickup covers to the mysterious red in the routing of the tremolo cavity. But this guitar is more than an art piece: the RZK-II BURNT is a neck-thru-body machine of sonic destruction. Based on the single-cutaway Eclipse shape, it features an alder body, a three-piece thin U-shaped maple neck, and premier components like ESP strap locks, Gotoh tuners, a Floyd Rose Original bridge, and a pair of super-aggressive EMG 81 pickups. Includes a high-quality hard shell case and a Certificate of Authenticity from ESP.
The higher price version ESP is built in our custom shop. Because of that the pricing is much higher (custom shop pricing takes into account that each instrument is built by hand by one of our top luthiers). E-II production model however has the same look and build but at a lower price due to it being manufactured in our production facility where we build E-II models. If you'd like to send some images of your instrument over to our customer service team at [email protected] they should be able to assist you with this.
If I custom ordered the ESP RZK-1 Burnt, would it cost around the same as this guitar? Or is there always an additional charge for a custom shop order? I assume that all these guitars are made to order anyway, right?
Also, would such an order be possible to further customize? Like substituting Gotoh locking tuners? Or something more involved like substituting the Floyd Rose bridge for an Evertune instead?

Hey Charles, you are correct. These models are made to order so they are not stocked regularly and when the time came to update our site with more shots of our models we only had the one shown with black binding to shoot. The current specification of this instrument will include white binding on the neck. Hope this helps!
