Respected worldwide for his innovative, emotive playing style, Javier Reyes pushes the boundaries of how the electric guitar can be approached with progressive rock band Animals As Leaders and in his soulful solo work with Mestis. Introduced in 2021, the LTD JR-7 is a 7-string version of Javier’s well-known 27” baritone scale ESP signature guitar. It offers neck-thru-body construction for stability and sustain, a swamp ash body, quilted maple top, and a 5-piece walnut/maple/padauk neck with Macassar ebony fingerboard. It features a custom inlay pattern in white pearloid, 24 extra-jumbo frets, and glow-in-the-dark side markers. Top-tier components on the JR-7 include a Hipshot bridge with string-thru-body, a five-way super switch for pickup selection and coil splitting, volume and tone controls, and a set of Javier’s signature Fishman Javier Reyes Open Core Humbucker pickups with a mini-switch to engage it's multiple voicings. Immensly Dissapointed with the QC on this guitar.

the nut isn't flush leaving a nice gap and paint leaking onto the binding

Screws were stripped and screwed in wrong. The control cover wasnt cut to size.

the neck joint looks slapped together with so much glue still left over
just love how theres a constant buzz that gets worse when the switch is in position 2 & 4...

how does a guitar get passed QC like that when my F-155DX and my V-401DX dont have any issues? what happened to you guys in the last 8 years???

If it wasn't for the QC issues, i would have loved to keep this guitar. It feels amazing to play, it's comfortable, and just looks absolutely beautiful in person.

The fact that this guitar is criminally underrated if rated at all is a travesty. It is by far the most versatile and amazing sounding and playing guitars I’ve ever owned and has made me an absolute ESP LTD convert (not that my H3-1000, consequently another sadly underrated guitar by ESP, didn't convince me already).
Look at the specs and you’ll know why this one don’t come cheap but let me tell you it rivals and beats many of the other higher priced custom US made models of other brands out there.  Javier Reyes should need no introduction to guitar nerds whether or not they are nearly as talented as him, and his tastes are clearly impeccable and this guitar reflects what appears to be years of messing with and finding the right tone. This could seriously replace all my guitars if I ever had to only choose one guitar to play everything.  Well Played ESP…Well played Javier Reyes, well played indeed
