LTD ALEXI RIPPED
LTD ALEXI RIPPED
PURPLE FADE SATIN W/ RIPPED PINSTRIPES

Capturing the essence of one of the world’s most beloved and influential figures in metal music, the LTD Alexi Ripped is among the final guitars designed by Children of Bodom/Bodom After Midnight frontman Alexi Laiho. The LTD Alexi Ripped is offered in an offset V shape with neck-thru-body construction at 25.5” scale. It features a three-piece thin u-shaped maple neck with natural satin finish for smooth and fast playability, alder body wings, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard (scalloped from frets 19-24) with 24 extra-jumbo frets, sawtooth inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side markers. The Alexi Ripped model is the first Alexi Laiho Signature Series guitar with more than one pickup. It includes an EMG HZ F-H2 passive humbucker in the bridge position for high-gain presence and clarity with a punchy response, as well as an EMG HZ S2 passive stacked single coil in the neck, offering just the right mix of mids with a clear and full low end. Components on this outstanding guitar include Grover tuners, a double-locking Floyd Rose 1000 bridge, and chrome hardware including a volume control and an inset three-way pickup selector. Available in Purple Fade Satin finish with painted black satin “ripped” pinstripes, with matching back and sides. Includes deluxe ESP hardshell case.
I’ve recently picked up one of these after trying to find an affordable Alexi-600 to replace my old broken one. Can honestly say it plays just as well as I remember, no neck dive (for me at least) great action, scalloped frets took a bit to get used to but all in all, play and feel is excellent. I feel at the price point these are, that they could include the EMG Alexi pickup and preamp but that’s a small gripe as even the higher end Alexi models didn’t have that, instead favoured the MM04 preamp and same pickups as here. Inclusion of the hard case is a nice touch considering how difficult getting cases for these guitars is.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier, I haven’t been so inspired to play a guitar in a hell of a long time.
