Black Shadow Burst

Josh Middleton is the acclaimed and highly influential guitarist of UK-based progressive metal/metalcore bands Sylosis and Architects, and his first ESP Signature Series guitar is one that lives up to this musician’s extraordinary talent. The LTD Josh Middleton Signature Series JM-II offers a bolt-on construction alder body with quilted maple top, a three-piece roasted maple neck in an extra-thin u-shaped profile, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. Components on the JM-II include a set of Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker pickups (alnico in the neck and ceramic in the bridge), with push-pull control to select voicings. It also offers LTD locking tuners and a recessed Gotoh TOM bridge with string-thru-body design. Available in Black Shadow Burst finish.
Picked up one of these about 8 months ago. Plays extremely well and fast. Setup was perfect out of the box. The truss rod did need some slight adjustment but that was expected.
Due to the pickups this can play any genre. For my needs I use it exclusively for metal and the various genres related to metal.
This is guitar is gonna be my next purchase because of unpainted neck and SS frets. This is a really cool looking guitar. I wanna leave some feedback for ESP.
- Please offer more options with hipshot style bridges on your LTD end E-II lines.
- Unpainted necks are a must for fast and shred type necks. Please do away with nasty glossy necks, at least on your Horizon, M and MH type guitars
- Stainless steel frets
