EC-FR BLACK METAL
EC-FR BLACK METAL
BLACK SATIN

The LTD Black Metal Series is comparable in build quality to our LTD Deluxe “1000 Series” instruments, but with a dark and menacing design theme of all-black finish, components, and hardware, a single premium-quality pickup, Macassar ebony fingerboards with no inlays and glow-in-the-dark side markers, and even a newly-designed black metal LTD logo on the headstock. The EC-FR Black Metal adds Floyd Rose 1000 bridge to the already-cool EC-Black Metal. It offers set-thru construction for smooth access to the highest frets at 24.75” scale. This guitar also features stainless steel frets, a single direct-mount Seymour Duncan Blackened Black Winter pickup, and a push-pull control on the volume knob for coil-splitting.

I got mine a few days ago and absolutely love it! The fit and finish are near perfect. The neck is a little thicker than a Gibson 60’s style or the old ec-1000 I used to have, but very comfortable. Not a crazy thin shredder neck, but definitely not fat.
Where else can I get a single pickup, Floyd rose, 24 stainless steel fret lp? Nowhere! The feel of the finish is so nice an soft, my hand glass across it. This thing rips! It’s a little under 8 pounds and way more comfortable than a Gibson, and with much better fret access
The only complaint I have is that I wish it had the Ltd locking tuners instead of the Grover’s. The Grover’s are very nice, but it’s a pain to change the strings with the string retainer without locking tuners. The Ltd ones are awesome, and I would gladly trade. If one of them has to have non locking tuners it should be the Tom version.
Received mine today via UPS. Very happy with the EC Black Metal. This one played great right out of the box! No issues at all, I was amazed. I'll be ordering another soon.
Thank you
So many cool choices. I'm either getting this or the purple ec 1000 with floyd. Great features. I've been playing since 1977 and would have died for a guitar like this back then!
Thanks. Tim.
