The LTD Black Metal Series are guitars that are comparable in build quality to our LTD Deluxe “1000 Series” instruments, but with a dark and menacing design theme of all-black finish, components, and hardware, a single premium-quality pickup, Macassar ebony fingerboards with no inlays and glow-in-the-dark side markers, and even a newly-designed black metal LTD logo on the headstock. The Arrow Black Metal takes the bold, extreme Arrow body shape and presents it in the killer Black Metal design scheme, with a single aggressive EMG 81 pickup, a single volume control, and an EMG TKO kill switch.

The guitar I received was defective from the start. The top coat was chipped along both sides of the frets from the 17th to the 24th, and it had no tuning stability whatsoever. After removing the bridge, I discovered the mounting stud holes were drilled too large, causing severe instability — a major flaw for a floating bridge guitar, (or any guitar).

I contacted ESP and paid to ship the guitar back for repair or replacement. Unfortunately, FedEx didn’t pack it securely, and a small piece of wood chipped off the body in transit. Despite my photos showing the original manufacturing defects, ESP blamed FedEx, performed a poor “repair,” and returned the guitar to me with a hardened clear residue splattered on the body and the missing wood still unrepaired.

I was sold a defective guitar that should have been replaced, considering that it never should have left the factory in that condition.

I was really looking forward to this guitar, but the entire experience has been disappointing from start to finish.

Does this one come with stainless steel frets?

On some of the other Black Metal Series models, the stainless steel frets are mentioned in the specs, but no information regarding stainless steel frets on this particular model.

It says it has jumbo Stainless Steel frets in the Specs part of the description
