    ESP E-II instruments, formerly known as “ESP Standard Series,” are made in Japan at the ESP factory by highly skilled builders. The E-II Eclipse offers the single-cutaway ESP Eclipse shape in a guitar designed for professional touring and recording. Built with set-thru construction at 24.75” scale for fast and smooth access to the highest frets, this guitar features a mahogany body with maple cap, a thin U-shaped mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard with 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. Components on this E-II Eclipse include black hardware, Gotoh TOM-style bridge and tailpiece, ESP strap locks, a bone nut, Gotoh locking tuners, and a set of versatile, powerful EMG 57TW (bridge) and EMG 66TW (neck) pickups with brushed black chrome covers. These innovative active pickups can be set to single coil mode via push-pull controls. Includes ESP form-fit case.

    I recently purchased this guitar from Sweetwater. Overall this guitar rips and I’m very happy with it. It’s my first guitar with coil splitting and SS frets, so that’s new to me. Absolutely solid machine to get the job done, but there are a couple of things that inspired me to write this review. The description given here is not entirely what I received. First, the battery box is plastic, although it appears to be the same shape as the stainless one, so maybe it can be replaced. Secondly, the bridge does not appear to be locking, and finally the tuners on mine are not Grover they are Gotoh locking. At the end of the day, great guitar and I don’t think anyone will be disappointed. This is my second ESP along with my Snakebyte and I’m truly a big fan of them.
