BLACK AQUA SUNBURST

$1,499.00 $1,049.00

Few guitar players of the world merit as much respect as Alex Skolnick. Originally gaining fame as the teenage phenomenon holding down guitar duties for Bay Area thrashers Testament, Alex has gone on to tackle multiple musical genres, including sophisticated jazz playing in his Alex Skolnick Trio. The AS-1FR takes Alex's original design and adds a Floyd Rose bridge for expressive performances. This traditional shape belies its contemporary set of tools that include a set-thru, U-shaped three-piece maple neck for smooth access all the way up and down the fingerboard. Its sound is powered with an excellent set of Seymour Duncan '59 (neck) and JB (bridge) pickups. Its flexible controls include individual volume knobs for each pickup, a tone control with push-pull access to spilt the pickup coils, and a pickup selector toggle. Other high-end components include Dunlop straplok and Grover tuners. The Alex Skolnick LTD AS-1 comes in Black Aqua Sunburst translucent finish over its figured flamed maple top.

Received the guitar and it is awesome! Definitely satisfied with everything about it - What are the strings that were sent with it? I like whatever they are enough that I'd certainly like to get more - Thanks!

This is a cool guitar. I'm not a big testament fan, but love this guitar and it's features..

Bryan R.

Todd P, Says in the specs above that it is 305mm.

I'm wondering how much thicker the U neck contour is from the Thin U of the EC1000T I used to have??

Todd B. ESP

Hi Brian, The EC-1000T has our standard Thin U neck which is 20mm thick at 1F and 22mm Thick at 12F. The Alex Skolnick model is slightly thicker with 21mm at 1F and 24mm at 12F. Alex's model is also slightly wider with a 43mm nut width compared to a 42mm nut width on our EC-1000 models.

Todd P.

Hi, what is the radius the fretboard?

Todd B. ESP

Hi Todd, The fingerboard radius is 305mm or around 12" which is fairly standard for our ESP and ESP E-II models.
