Cha Jun-hwan, who won his first championship in this competition in 2017 while attending Whimoon Middle School, has since won seven consecutive championships and emerged as a leading star of Korean figure skating.

At stake in this competition is the right to participate in the World Championships to be held in Montreal, Canada in March and the Taegeuk mark for the next season.

A total of three world championships are at stake in men's singles. Cha Jun-hwan, who became the first Korean male athlete to win a silver medal at the World Championships in March last year, is determined to proudly participate in the World Championships after winning this competition and aim to win a prize for the second time in a row.

Shin Ji-ah is showing off her women's senior single free performance at the 2023 National Men's and Women's Figure Skating President's Cup Ranking Competition held at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Rink in Gyeonggi-do on the 3rd.

In the women's division, Shin Ji-ah (Yeongdong Middle School) finished the short program in first place and started toward her second consecutive victory.

Yoo Young is showing off a great performance in the women's single free skating competition at the 'KB Financial Korea Figure Skating Championship 2023' held at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Rink in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 8th.

Shin Ji-ah, who attracted attention by beating prominent seniors at last year's all-around championships to the top for the first time, continued her upward trend this year as well.

However, even if Shin Ji-ah is in the top three in this competition, she cannot compete in the senior world championships due to age restrictions and will head to the junior world championships.

Shin Ji-ah expressed her determination, saying, “It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t show as much as I practiced, but I will take that regret and do my best in the free skating tomorrow.”

Kim Ye-rim, who attracted attention by placing 9th at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, withdrew from this competition due to injury and will not be able to wear the Taegeuk symbol next season. 19가이드03
