    Hello, got an EC-256 for Christmas as that's all my parents could afford. I still want to upgrade the guitar eventually and as I'm able. If I change the stock pickups to Seymour Duncans, install new tuners, get a bone nut installed, and a tailpiece, would this help, or is it just putting makeup on a pig so to speak.

      I have a cheap Jackson Dinky that I bought 25 years ago.  I replaced the pickups with some EMGs.  Other than that, it's stock and I still play it.  Plays great, and has a monstrous sound.  Now my 9 y/o son uses it for his guitar lessons.

      Just because an EC-256 may be an inexpensive guitar, doesn't mean it cant be great
